Helpful and pleasant staff - great Lagoon view
Head waiter in restaurant very pleasant company. Great views of catamarans on the lagoon early morning as well as fabulous sunset.

large room with view, but on 3rd floor with no lift. large balcony.
bathroom a little small with shower water going everywhere. drains a bit smelly.
wifi didn't work at first but staff had it up and running quickly.
evening meal quite good but breakfast menu (apart from omelette cooked to choice) somewhat limited.
transport to airport via hotel car was speedily arranged but expensive.
main reason for choosing hotel (1 night stay) was proximity to colombo airport.

This is not a new property. It may have a new owner but it is a real mess. I have been going to SL for the past 25 years and this is the worst facility that I have been at.
Staff was all local mostly non-english speaking and could care less- I think that they were taught customer-dis-service!, they charge 3000 Rupie($25.00) for airport pick up and the property is 10 km to the airport, whereas a 40 km trip to center Colombo is 2000 rupie. Resturant was limited so I had Fish & Chips which was ok but when I asked for Malt Vinagar they did not have any!
The wi-fi is almost non-existant
I could not log on most of the time . The best download speed was 0.35 upload .20.

Nice looking but needs a litte attention

This near to airport hotel is a nice looking boutique hotel with a nice setting next to a lagoon. You'd never know it was there at the end of a most easy to miss turnoff and down a little narrow road.
Very convenient for the airport but:
There was a kettle in the room but the plug did not fit the socket and we had to stand it on something and plug it in in the bathroom.
The plunger for the sink plug got stuck and the basin could not be emptied.
The shower sprayed all over the small bathroom.
Airport transfer is expensive from this hotel (i.e. 2000 rupees for 4 mile transfer, when we paid 2350 rupees for radio cab from Colombo to the hotel - 20 miles approx, so bit of a rip off).
Restaurant Tip:
Take a tuk tuk to Negombo to eat, more choice and even factoring in transport, cheaper than eating at the hotel

The food is bad. Also, it is very loud at night. They have a live band and none of the rooms are exempt from the noise. We stayed because we had a flight out in the middle of the night, but were not able to get any sleep before 11 pm because the music was so loud. When we complained staff agreed to move us, but would not turn the music down. Even in the new room we could still hear it. It took over an hour to convince them to turn the music down and we were not the only ones complaining. They kept saying that many guests request the music.

My Girlfriend and I really enjoyed our stay. The staff was very nice and helpful the rooms very nice with a very comfortable bed. The food was good and a very nice buffet breakfast. The ride to the airport was only around 10 mins just a bit exxy for the short ride 2000 Rs. Overall really liked that place dunno if i could stay more then 2-3 days without getting bored. but very good stopover place for a flight back home.

I would suggest the Star rating for the Hotel should be two & half or 3 star.
