Couples United States of America, February 13, 2013	Loved every minute excellent staff, amazing view, remote location, quiet, affordable 9 I initially planned on staying one week at the Sanmali resort as my first stop in Sri Lanka, but enjoyed it so much I added another week The staff was so friendly & accommodating it was easy to feel like I lived there. The pictures fail to do the sunset justice, I would (in fact, will) stay there again. However, some notes for the potential visitor: -The Wi-Fi is hit & miss: sometimes it's great, other times you get little to no signal even standing next to the router. Be prepared if you need to regularly check e-mail or similar. -There are a lot of insects in & around the hotel. No harmful ones beyond mosquitoes, but if you come expecting "showroom floor" room you will be dissapointed. Small spiders, bees, & other bugs abound as well as a large number of geckos. Personally, these qualities make the place MORE appealing, but if you enjoy vacations as sterile as your living room, this is not the place for you. That's it. I'd recommend this resort to anyone. Restaurant Tip: There is a small restaurant about 100 meters down the road that serves excellent meals & is very affordable. It looks a bit dodgy to western eyes but it can't be beat. Try the prawns or cuttlefish. Be aware that service times tend to be very slow in Sri Lanka, with up to an hour passing before your food arrives at many places. Don't wait till you are starving to place an order.
