Close to the airport, this chic, unfussy hotel offers seclusion and serenity on one of the prettiest spots on the beach. Just a short tuk tuk ride from Negombo, guests who feel compelled to visit town can easily do so, while the airport is only a 20-minute drive away. Spending a whole day lounging by the pool is a distinct possibility at Seashells Hotel, and surrounded by such natural beauty and in such a peaceful location, there can be little motivation to do much else. Seashell’s restaurant serves a generous selection of Western and Asian food, while a smattering of restaurants and bars can be found within a 10-minute walk down the road. And while Seashells may technically sport only two stars, a glass of wine taken in the gardens at sunset is surely a five-star experience.

Nice stretch of beach
Close to the airport

Rooms a little tired and bedding could do with being replaced
Food is dissapointing
I stayed for 3 nights at the beginning of a kite surfing trip to Sri Lanka. Hotel is good enough for a two star and although the room I had did not have AC the fan was powerful enough to keep me cool at night.
The beach location is very good and the general condition of the hotel is good and above 2 star in my opinion. The only things that were not great were the bedding which is very sad especially the pillows and the food which was not that great.
