Nice hotel in a bustling part of Negombo
excellent and well designed rooms with great ac!

i stayed at the hotel two nights at the start of my trip to sri lanka. negombo beach didn't really hold much for me, but st. lachlan hotel was very nice. large rooms with excellent bathrooms, helpful staff and a nice location. plenty of pubs and restaurants around. a short walk to the beach which is pretty to look at.
the best part i thought was its proximity to the airport. i arrived late at night and the quick trip to the hotel was very welcome. good nights rest!

The food in this hotel was very good, reasonably priced,well presented and very tasty.

Very friendly and efficient staff.
Good location within walking distance to Negombo centre with a lot of restaurants around.
The pool is a plus as the beach is not so convenient for sun bathing or swimming.
Of course you can do better than Negombo in Sri Lanka but this has nothing to do with the hotel.
The rooms are spacious.
Do NOT try the hotel massage though as it is crapy.

Great hotel near the beach

Wonderful hotel. Neat, clean, air conditioned. Not many rooms so the hotel was quiet. Off the beaten path and a bit difficult to find, but the taxi driver found it. Near the beach. A lot of activities on the beach. Free internet. No phones, no elevator/lift.

The hotel food was excellent.

good base to start or end holiday in sri lanka - only 15 mins from airport. would recommend this hotel to anyone. very clean with large rooms and suites - only 16 in total but plenty of staff on hand. food in restaurant very good and freshly cooked to order. nice small swimming pool and sunbathing area.
i can highly recommend as massage at this hotel - the best i have ever had in sri lanka - most relaxing!!
Travel tip:
whether you are just arriving on the island or preparing to leave i always find negumbo a good place to go for a few days. it is only 15 minutes from the airport and before/after a long flight this is a good tourist stop.

Really lovely hotel

i didn't have very high expectations of this hotel so i was pleasantly surprised. the welcome by the manager was genuinely friendly and kind.
the rooms (we were in room 14) are very spacious with a king size double bed then a full area with two comfy seats, coffee table, wardrobe, credenza with tv and dvd player so plenty of space to move around. the bathroom amenities include shampoo, conditioner, soap, gel and body lotion. there's a large sink, a lovely side table where you can really spread out your stuff and a large shower with a fantastic rainshower head and serious water pressure.
the only odd thing was that the rooms are all along an open air corridor so the only windows overlook this corridor. the windows at ceiling height don't have curtains so if your neighbour leaves their outside light on, it will shine in your room. the lower windows have blinds so if you leave the blinds open everyone can look into your room.
very nice bar, decent restaurant and nice pool. best of all was the efficiency of everything: the wake up call was on time and the airport drop off was perfectly coordinated. we felt safe and very well taken care of here.
Hotel Feature Tip:
The hotel isn't on the beach, but literally 50 metres from the beach (across a road). That's really not a problem because Negombo beach is so dirty that you wouldn't want to spend much time there anyway.
Note that there's no lift so you need to walk up stairs to get to your room. They will carry your luggage for you.
