Fabulous feasts at this historic hotel

The room, although stunningly clean, is a bit small considering the price. Water pressure in the shower was strong and hot water was available within seconds (getting the right water temperature at the right pressure often is problematic in most places in Sri Lanka). Nice view of the pretty garden from the window. On the downside, despite noting our requirement for a "large bed" , the room given to us (and other similar rooms) has a large bed that is actually two single beds conjoined into one, instead of a king- or queen-size bed. Not the most comfortable sleeping situation for couples.

A Nice, if Old, Place to Stay
Check-in went without a hitch and the welcome soup was delicious. The room was showing its age, but was still well-maintained and spotless. The location is perfect.quiet surrounding .

It was a very comfortable stay
the setting in a old historic bangalow was excellent and offers a healty deviation from a modern 'hotel'. The food was prepared well and the room was clean

We enjoyed our stay at St. Andrews! it was a nice place to relax after our sightseeing trips. My wife enjoyed the comfort offered in contrast to the other hotels we stayed at during the tour

Great rooms; shame about the food

The setting and architecture of the hotel are very attractive. Rooms are spacious, comfortable, quiet, and well insulated against the cold. Staff were efficient and helpful. The down side of St Andrews is the dining room, which is far too small for the number of guests. Staff and customers have to dodge each other to access the food area. The dinner buffet was poor quality and overpriced despite the "discount" offered. The bill did not take acount of the discount so we had to ask for a fresh bill . This was brought ungraciously .
