Located at an elevation of 5782 feet, approximately 1606 meters above sea level, Jetwing Warwick Gardens is in the farm town of Ambewela, a few miles away from the upcountry capital of Nuwara Eliya. Jetwing Warwick Gardens is arguably the most luxurious five bedroom Villa in Nuwara Eliya. Around 170km away from the International Airport in Katunayake, this particular hotel was formerly the proud home of a Scottish tea planter; it was a beautiful residential area. Restoring to its former elegance, which is beautifully surrounded by stunning views and landscaped grounds, there is no place like Jetwing Warwick Gardens. Surrounded by mountains and lush green tea estates Warwick Gardens becomes an automatic choice for those seeking a holiday in the laps of greenery, chill weather and privacy. Guests are pampered by the personal butler service and different dining options which includes breakfast in the garden. Some of Sri Lanka’s best brands of tea are served here and the selection of wine available at this Villa makes it a wine taster’s choice. Jetwing Warwick Gardens is the ideal place for those who like to explore the magnificent Horton Plains National Park and Hakgala Botanical Gardens which are two very famous highlights in Nuwara Eliya. This place is a popular honeymooner’s choice which is also endorsed by the fact that the Villa does not take families with children.
Please note that guests must pay a city tax of 1,5 Euro per person per night directly at the hotel upon arrival. This is an additional charge and is not included in the room rates. Children and extra beds:Minimum age of guests is: 6 year(s). Guests over 6 years old are considered as adults. Extra beds are dependent on the room you choose, please check the individual room policy for more details.

live like the owner of a tea plantation
friendly and helpful staff
7
This is a restoration of a house built for the owner of a tea plantation, and the old factory (now disused) is perched higher up the hill behind the house. There is a lovely garden, and they grow a lot of their own vegetables. The friendly manager of the hotel, Faris, is very informative about the building and the surroundings; and has devised various walks in the area - so allow enough time for your visit. There are only five bedrooms, and dinner is at a communal table in the original dining room - good for sharing travel experiences. If you are planning a visit to Horton Plains and World's End, early morning is supposed to give you the best chance of seeing the views (before the clouds roll in) and the hotel will make you a picnic breakfast. My only complaint is that meals and refreshments are all in addition to the fairly steep price, whereas at the similar Tea Trails planters' bungalows the extras are all included. (And note: if you are approaching from Nuwara Eliya, take the A5 Badulla road and turn off at Keppetipola - the route via Elk Plains and Ambewela station is scenic but much more tortuous).
