Nice bungalow with quiet surroundings.
Extremely gentle and helpful staff. Colonial era type structure of the building, nice homely interior.
It was nice for a one night stay. Quiet surroundings, not much to do in the area as it was in a secluded place. The bathroom was not clean though.

It is a very cosy stay like our own place.
Staff, Food, Location
The stay is amazing and we have a very wonderful time at Mandira Strathdon. The staff is especially helpful and always try to make our stay cosy. The food comes in home-cooked style, and is the best I've had in Sri Lanka.

Colonial vibes relived
Surroundings of beautiful tea fields, friendly stuff and the atmosphere of colonial times
Unforgettable is the view from Mandira Strathon, with tea fields wherever you look. Even though restored, the still glows with colonial vibes. The hallways are broad and the rooms more than spacious. The bathroom is clean yet a bit dated, but staying at a house like this, it's something you should overlook. The Sri Lankan food was delicious and even though it was raining the staff had no problems taking a stroll through the teafields with us. A very nice hotel, with friendly staff :)

lovely hotel with mang glasses windows
featured rooms
The hotel is in a quiet location. The villas are rustic and beautiful and despite it being fairly open we didn’t have any problems with bugs/insects. It will be better if it have a pool. The staff were very friendly too. too bad they do not have wifi there.

Luxury and Comfort in the Tea Terrace
Location, Service, Staff, Cleaness, Style and Scenery
We stayed in Mandira Strathdon Bungalow for a night. It is not a hotel but a colonial style farm house. You feel like you are home. The bed room and living room are very stylish and well furnished. The staff treat you like the boss. The breakfast was delisous. They serve the best coffee and tea I ever had. The best part of the house is that it is surrounded by the tea terrace and mountains. In the morning we had a beautiful view of the the fields and mountain from the back yard, and took a walk in the country road between the layers of tea trees. It is a great experience.

Colonial house with deligthful staff
Personalised service with only 4 rooms
indeed a unique experience both in terms of accommodation and the attention paid to visitors led by the devoted jayarant. a step back to colonial days, the bungalow is situated above tea plantations from which visitors can view the pickers plucking. all facilities are meticulously clean, well presented with comfortable beds. one's lasting memory however is of jayarant, whose imploring to treat the bungalow "as your own home" is meant in every sense. jayarant is as much a product of the colonial times as the bungalow. he also delivers on the food front with generous portions of local fare from his own hands. the main negative is getting there. the road from nuwara eliya is currently under rebuilding and is virtually impassable for the next year or so. hence getting there from nuwara eliyarequires the long way around wich takes up to 3 hours. the trip is normally 43 klms! in the end, however, the inconvenience is worth it.

Not at all value for money
Staff courtesy is superb..foods are good
The hotel is pretty far (around 90 km from the nuwara eliya city) such a remote location where u do not find any shops..the rooms are not for couple(separate bed) TV/AC /fan in the room.. In short, not at all value for money..however the staffs r really helpful..
