It is at the end of a twisty road a bit out of town. It is perfect for just relaxing or as a staging place for a visit to Lipton's seat or maybe Yala Nature Reserve. It is a new resort with clean crisp lines, large rooms and private balconies that take full advantage of the view. They have a suitable if limited dinner menu. The beef was excellent, the lamb - not so much. We would stay again.

Good stopover hotel
Quiet surroundings, excellent view, and friendly staff

The main problem with this place was the accessibility from the main road, as the roads in this area tended to be very narrow and unpaved. Secondly, internet was spotty but this may have been due to the weather.

In a wonderful location, the spacious, comfortable and nicely designed rooms overlook the garden and pool. Mountains all around are filled with birds. Sometimes the monkeys visit the dining room balcony. There are several opportunities for good walks. The restaurant is quite good and the staff are skilled, professional and attentive. If you want wines, stock up in duty free on the way to Sri Lanka, as many hotels have limited cellars. Very highly recommended!

We had a wonderful stay at the Melheim Resort and the staff at the resort made it so. They were most genuinely warm and helpful. The views of the mountains were beautiful.
the rooms were large and comfortable. There is no air-con but that isn't necessary in haputale where the nights and early mornings are very cool. This place is a good place to explore tea country.

The location of the hotel was fantastic..The Food tasted delicious. The staff was very nice and very friendly. Overall this is a place where you can spend ur time with ur loved one and have the most beautiful time together.

We really enjoyed our stay at Melheim, it was one of our favourite hotels during our 2 week stay in sri Lanka. The staff were so friendly and helpfull and the food was excellant. Its a perfect location for relaxing, the views are amazing. We would definitely stay there again.
