Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

Nice lady. OK room.
Good location. Quiet. Good food
7.7
she's a nice and honest host. the room was sufficiently clean, i just wish there weren't as many mosquitoes as other guests mentioned. it felt a bit dingy but overall it's ok as a budget accommodation for 1 or 2 nights.
she doesn't believe in giving a commission to tuk-tuk drivers for referrals (as is somewhat common in sri lanka) so some drivers may bad-mouth her because of this. you may find that she turns off the internet/wifi at night, but you can ask her to turn it back on (or do it yourself). it's just a cost saving thing that i've seen other places do as well.
if you want to orient yourself and find your way to (or back to) the home, just look for the giant radio antenna. the house is right next to it and you can't miss it, it's about 30 stories tall and orange/white.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
It's a short bike-ride to the historic old ruins. You could even walk if you wanted. The bike I rented from the host was a bit of a clunker, but it got me from A to B.

As a 'home stay' - albeit it is trying to be an hotel, it is expensive and for me not good value for money

lovely homestay; great welcome
good location, friendly welcome
8.3
Stayed here to visit Polonnaruwa with an amazing collection of historical sites. It is a homestay not a hotel. We received a warm welcome and we ate food prepared for us at the homestay. The location is good although visitors will need some kind of transport to visit all the sites as they are quite spread out. We enjoyed our stay and were very happy.

location, homestay feeling, food
8.7
Very friendly homestay. Lady owner is really helpfull and keepinf the place in good shape. Location is off main roads so it is quite but very close to center - five mins walk whwre you can borrow bikes etc. Rooms are small but clean with usable bathrooms. Common lounge and terrace is really great. We were offerred fresh orange juice after arrival and have several curries for dinner which was great. Great wifi no interuptions even in all rooms.
