A great place to rest weary legs
Attentive, helpful staff, clean room and just down the road from Dambulla rock temples

Sundaras Resort is a great place really close to Dambulla rock temples and easy place from which to get to Sigiriya rock. The staff are attentive and very helpful. The room was clean and comfortable after a long day walking around various cultural sights and the food is pretty good too.

Okay for a short stay. The hosts are quite helpful. The male manager can come across slightly rude. He checked our e-confirmation and commented that we have got too good a room for the deal we have got, which was unnecessary! We got the deal cos he'd agreed to put that up on agoda!! I don't think he intentionally meant to offend, so we just let that be.
But he was helpful in various ways, check in and out was a breeze.
But the Manager could be slightly less interfering, and it would make a great stay.

Big room but disapointed in all espects

Staying in this hotel was disaster. Room was big with open shower and bathroom. We had 10 mosquitos all the in the room, even if we didnt open doors for a minute. The bed was so stiff, that we could sleep. We ordered sendwices and we were waiting for them one hour. It was burned toast, burned chips... this wasnt the end. When we go to sleep in the roof was birds and outside loud music, cat in the building, dogs were barking.... at 7am we run away....

We were greeted with a cup of good tea. The room was spacious and comfortable, the shower had good hot water. THe hotel is situated very close to the Dambulla caves, but not close to the centre of town, so you will have to get a tuktuk to reach it. The food was good but it took them to long to serve.

Nice place, with friendly but slightly slow staff (I reminded the staff that I would like a Sri Lankan breakfast 3 times in one night for the next morning but never received it). We also had a dining table right outside the door to our room which was a little strange but otherwise it was a basic, comfortable stay.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Great location for the beautiful Dambulla cave temples. Go up late evening so the hike up (700 steps) isn't too brutal and stay to watch a gorgeous sunset.

This hotel organised our driver from Colombo for 12 days - they gave our requirements 100% attention. All the staff were brilliant, communicated very well and the rooms were very comfortable. The restaurant did healthy cooking and served up the best curd we ate in Sri Lanka
