Always an awesome experience.
Food, service and atmosphere

This is my 5th visit to Aqua and, as expected, the experience was excellent. I was accompanied by a friend of mine from overseas and he was amazed at the food, service, atmosphere and the trendy design of the hotel. No doubt i'll be back for more soon.

It was relaxing.

The stay was OK. I don't really have any complaints except for the fact that the photos on their agoda profile are misleading. This hotel is nowhere near the 4-istar standard. It's 3-star tops, if not 2.
The pool is more like a jacuzzi, i.e. very small, but with nice ocean view.
Please note that while the hotel is practically on the water, it has no immediate access to a real beach. you would have to walk to the right a few hundred meters.

The transfer from the airport was arranged with the hotel and was more expensive than the taxis service at the airport, but was hassle free. The hotel itself is an excellent design and the room had an awesome view of the beach. The staff were super friendly And attentive. The Sri lankan food was amazing. If possible, do not use the tuk tuk drivers waiting outside the hotel as they all have an agenda and will take you to where they want to go.

GOOD BUT NEEDS IMPROVEMENT

NICE ROOM, BUT VERY SMALL TOILETS* SHOWER AREA IS TOO SMALL. WHEN THE NEIGHBORING ROOM OPENS THE DOOR, IT FEELS LIKE THEY'RE OPENING OUR ROOM DOOR SO LOUD* VERY LESS VARIETIES IN THE FOOD MENU BUT THE FOOD WAS GOOD* VERY SMALL CAR PARK AREA

it was great till one of owner come and had party

It was great till one of owner come and partied till 2am with very loud music outside of the room. I had to complain few times and I was not happy that the owner himself did not care about paid customer. I enjoyed the place till the last night but I dont think I will go back again.

1. Parking was a very big hassle. There is no adequate parking.
2. The thai restaurant they boast about is not upto standard at all. food was very bland
3. We asked for breakfast in the room and they forgot cutlery.
4. there were other guests who was making the stay very uncomfortable for other.

I am generally the least fussy when it comes to hotels. However, i was fiery disappointed with Cantaloupe Aqua. It all started when the guard didn't open the gate to the parking lot claiming there was no parking. However, when we told him we need to hand over the bags, he reluctantly opened the gate and to our surprise, there was parking! We put it down to the fact that maybe it's cos we have a small car. The A.C. in the room didn't work properly.. made a noise the who0le night. Mould in the shower cubicle. No water in taps on arrival until we informed the reception. Coffee amenities had no cream for two. Shower cubicle and commode too close to one another and legs knock on the cubicle when seated. Only 6 tv channels. On the plus side, staff was friendly, quick to attend to our room service order and the beach view was stunning. Will not be visiting again ever

Great design hotel for a weekend break

We had a fabulous stay at aqua, the hotel is unique and charming with great rooms, excellent views, superb food both in variety and taste. I would unreservedly recommend it for anyone looking of a fun getaway.
