Location just on the right beach

Good location right on the best beach to our point of view (forget Unawatuna crowded beach). Hotel with classic rooms and cabanas. We stayed at the sea view apartment, ideal for a couple and their children.
Service is great thanks to Renate management and food is very good.
The only negative point i see is the proximity of the railway, and trains circulate night and day, so if you have a light sleep, maybe not the right option.

Nice and friendly place, German owner, clean and tidy, but still close to nature with guest from wide life showing up in the bathroom occationly. Lovely view and very nice garden with 3 min walk to beach where you can swim. Value for money. Though, very close to road and the sound can be a bit disturbing in the appartment rooms. The booking was a bit tricky, make sure you see the difference between appartment and bungalow, very easy to mistake. We stayed in apartment and were happy with that.

beautifull hotel with a great view on the ocean

hotel is located at the a2 road 5km from galle. this is a very, very busy road. opposite the road is the railway. google (rockside cabanas) at utube for the little movie i wll put on there to get an impression of a train passing by. this is just to give you an impression of the sound you will hear 2x hour.
so book a cabana in the garden or a room with the garden view to avoid that noise.
the manager was not to friendly to our driver because she wants no locals in her hotel. we talked to her and explained her we still had some bussiness to talk over with him. there is no parking space for your car (only for a short moment).
to travel from the hotel to the things you want te visit, take a tuk tuk. there are 2 brothers outside who will bring you everywhere you want to go. very nice guys who will give you good tips as well.
cabanas are realy beatifull but have no ac or tv. instead you will have a fan and a musquitonet which you will need during the night.
the view on the ocean is stunning and only 50m to the right you will find a small but very nice beach where you can swim.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Take a tuktuk to Galle and visit the old city. Don't bother to buy your souvenirs there: far overpriced. Let the tuktuk driver drop you at Main Street and do your shopping over there for local prices. You will have a little language trouble but who cares.
The tuktuk driver can also bring bring you to a local wood carver where you will find the best quality souvenirs.
Also visit the temple on the lake from there. Very beautifull. That's another temple then the one on the island. We did get that tip in Yala.

i had a great time at rsc. renate was welcoming and does a great job maintaining the place. very good staff, great atmosphere, nice rooms. the beach outside is absolutely breath taking!!! loved it.

Very clean and tranquil place to be. A small hotel with spacious clean cabanas. Number 2 is almost on the beach. The beach is perfect too. You have a choice - to swim in the waves 50m away from the hotel or take "a bath" in quite waters near hotel.
Great location- in quiet place and only 5 min awayby tuk tuk from the busy beach restaurants. You can have dinner in the hotel or go to town or go to other the beach restaurants.
I'd say it was the best stay in Sri Lanka (out of 6 hotels I stayed in) and best value for money.
The only small unpleasant thing was that quite many locals come to that part of the beach. Youngsters play the ball just where you sunbathe. But by walking during 5 min you can find quieter parts on the beach.

A lovely hotel for travelers and couples

We stayed at this hotel for one night only. We arrived quiet late however it was still time for dinner and we were able to eat at the terasse of our bungalow which was a great experience. If you choose to stay there ask for the bungalows that have full sea view. The only thing you hear at night is the waves of the sea. The next morning we wanted to get out breakfast in the terasse again but there was a great confusion between the staff (who speak extremely poor English) and the hotel manager.in the end we managed to do it but when you have just woken up the least you want is someone to make your life complicated. Overall I can say that the people who work there are a bit uptight, the food (especially dinner) was really not great, however it's an extremely clean and tidy hotel with an amazing view and an amazing beach just in front of you, I highly recommend it for a couple of nights.
Hotel Feature Tip:
If you come with a driver MAKE SURE he doesn't honk in order to open the gates. The owners went crazy!
It is a very dangerous street and before you pass the main door your car is practically in the middle o the road and everyone starts honking. It was a horrible experience to get in the hotel and a really not friendly welcoming because of it.
