relaxing and startlingly close to natural wildlife
eco, quiet and pool overlooking the beach
9.7
Very beautiful location but we unfortunately arrived during a terrible storm so couldn't do many outdoor activities during our stay other than visit yala. The rooms were pleasant but filled with wildlife e.g. frogs, lizards, cockroaches (this resort not for the nervous person I think as can easily be removed from rooms). Gave us a free mosquito repellent for our room in addition to the nets to help sleep bite free. Loved the pool, great idea to look out on the beach it as too rough to swim. The staff couldn't do enough to make the stay comfortable and keen that they are "perfect". Hot breakfast was very close to a UK/Irish, very good. Beach is lovely and very private, was only us, my friend and the stray dogs! Would stay again if I was in sri Lanka.

Outstanding food in beach location
Excellent food, quiet location at beach, close proximity to Yala National Park
8.7
Very attentive staff, excellent food, great location right on the beach and near Yala National Park. Chalet near beach and pool was clean but not so cozy, a bit too much plastic and “cheap ethno”. Has an “infinity pool” on top of a huge rock. The restaurant with beach view is certainly a highlight. Easy walk to Kirinda Village.

Fantastic hotel right on the beach
Location, charming style, good food
7.3
Stayed two nights and loved the rustic feel of the wooden chalets.
Rooms were clean although quite small and watch out for insects!
Location on the beach is great and close to Yala and Bundara National parks.
Staff were helpful in organising transportation for us.
Food is good (perfect as not much else around)and we enjoed the set menu dinner on the beach on our first night.

So welcoming and great location
Welcoming, Location, quiet and food

We spent 2 nights at the hotel the staff are amazing the manager, owner and particularly the restaurant manager are all so welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. The hotel is a little out of any town but it doesn't matter as you have everything you need there. The restaurant is amazing buffet meals and live music every night. The restaurant manager is a true professional my husband has a wheat allergy and every night he went through the whole menu with him.
Don't go to this hotel if you are not happy sharing your lodge with the odd bit of wildlife, you are in an Eco lodge so there is nature all around. The rooms are open to the elements a bit but nothing that is really awful.
Overall the hotel is well worth a visit the owner, manager and restaurant manager were amazing.

nice challets near beach front
beautiful beach for lonely walks, not overcrowded, quiet place
7
About 20 min from the Yala Safari it is a great choise for those who want to relax after the Safari adventure. The challets are nice and clean and even provide TV. There are mosqito nets above the beds which is necessary as many mosqitos around. They have a pool with a stunning view on the sea and beach - but I wouldn't use it - doesn't look clean enough. But who needs a pool anyway when there is the most beautiful beach infront of you. The sea is a bit rough so not really for swimming but for enjoying. It is quiet and not many people as they only have a small number of challets. I can recommend to stay there but make sure you have your dinner elsewhere as the prices are ridculous. We have read it in the reviews before and had dinner outside is the "city" in another hotel. The prices are actually everywhere very high in comparisson to Sri Lanka in general. However, when they charged us for breakfast a fruitjuice with around 5500SLR we couldn't believe (as it always was free in every hotel before). Ok, you can charge but you need to tell your customer AND you need to tell the price in advance. This situation was ridicuslous and we discussed with the manager who appologized and waved the extra charges after all. So nice to stay - not nice to eat. Also staff during breakfast was very slow!
Hotel Feature Tip:
accomodation for driver provided

Great location and really friendly owner and staff
The pool, the staff, the wild and rugged beach
8.3
Great stay - wild and rugged beach, unusual but great pool, nice comfortable rooms. The food was good - although there could have been more choice in the evenings, we didn't always want the buffet, Really beautiful surroundings between two national parks - we took bicycles out at sunset and it was gorgeous. Really friendly staff as well, full of great tips for the area and happy to help with organising safaris to Yala and give advice on the best times to go and the weather.
