Couples India, February 12, 2013	"Good upcoming hotel with some teething issues" Proximity to the beach and ease of access to major tourist hot spots 6.3 The hotel is a nice hotel - newly renovated and a very friendly staff - The manager also went out of his way to accommodate our request to get a room with a better view. I would recommend the hotel but recommend some changes 1) Drastically improve room service - Not being able to provide drinking water (and not providing for it in the mini bar) 2) Provide internet in the rooms - since there is one in the lobby its a very quick fix to provide in the rooms 3) The food in general needs to go up a notch - be it the variety in the buffet spread 4) Take care of the amenities - The hotel is hardly 2 years old after renovation and already has a broken dart board. Also it was a little strange to pay for the pool table in spite of being resident guests of the hotel. However,I must add the swimming pools were very nice. Report this review

Couples Australia, September 13, 2012	Unhelpful staff, remote but scenic location Rooms are ok and clean, location is remote but scenic (on the beach) 4 The Peacock hotel is situated on the beach at Hambantota - remote, but very nice location. Unfortunately the staff at reception were very unhelpful - like would stare ahead when asked a question and pretend you weren't there. The presentation of the food was AWFUL - a lot like Faulty Towers. There was a wedding reception on the second day and we were shunted through a dark, dingy, smelly corridor to a dirty second reception room for breakfast and dinner. This room had cockroaches running around and was full of flies and mosquitos. This is definitely NOT a 4 star hotel that they portray themselves as. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
