Nothing special but a good standard hotel
Close to bus station and many of Lukang's sights
6.7
If you're staying in Lukang then this is a perfectly satisfactory hotel. It's not far from the bus station and most of the sights of interest to a tourist are walkable. There's a 7-11 close by. The hallways and lift areas had an unpleasant 'wet carpet' smell but the rooms were fine. Free internet in lobby but no guest laundry room. Breakfast typical of most mid-range Asian hotels. Non-smoking room acceptably clean and fresh. Worth considering if you're staying in Lukang, although bus to Changhua is only half an hour. Staff spoke some English. Note that if you're using the 2011 Lonely Planet guide, the hotel is actually just off the top right-hand corner of the map of Lukang.
Nightlife Tip:
The area around the main temple is great if you're into street food, but note that few places have English signage, and not a lot of English is spoken.

Hotel with good breakfast
5.3
I can not rate on staffs performance as there is no specific services required during my stays. Simply checked in, had breakfast and checked out. I did not feel they did bad or good job. Just so average. So, you would not feel a thing. The room is old. Unlike some old hotel, you would feel the style and still clean and comfortable. The one is just old. Not quite clean. No style at all. Air condition is terrible. Too cold. Do not know to adjust it. Breakfast is the only point plus. At least, they offered a good range of choices.
Nightlife Tip:
Don't go out. This is windy in the night.

This hotel looks like it is about to close and to be honets that would be the best thing for it! The staff were unhelpful and spoke very little english (unexpected for such a large hotel) except one receptionist. The pool was fine on the one day it was open on the other it was closed with no reason and no appology. There is no western restaurant as advertised and the chineese one was only open on one of the two days we were there and even when it is only for a very short period of time. Teh hotel is huge by far the biggest building in the town so a plus point is its easy to find! But most of the time t felt like a ghost town and we were there on a national holiday. Our room was fine and we did like the balcony (although good luck in getting the door unlocked) if you must stay here try and get a high up room as you can see for miles.
Travel tip:
To get to Lukang from Changhua by bus is a little tricky if you speak little chineese but we managed. When getting off train cross over roads diagonally to small bus station next to KFC. They will speak no english but get in queue under number 5. The bus driver will speak enough to know you want to go to Lukang and you can buy ticket on bus (about 50 NT$) Then stay on the bus until the last stop which is the Lukang bus station. Walk past tourist info and some donkeys turn right and walk about 5 mins - you will be able to see the hotel the whole time.
