I stayed in a standard double (with window) in order to do a day trip to Alishan. It was a large clean room with modern furnishings. I would stay there again. It is about 1km from the train station (and bus to Alishan) but there are a number of shops nearby and a night market. The hotel staff are more than willing to assist.

very reasonably price for a city hotel with chic design! the room was clean, the bed was comfy, all the things you expected to have in a hotel room, its there, well presented! i love its bathroom! shower and bathtub separated! the breakfast was okay too, a good variety! would definitely come back next time!

I stayed with friends. The family room is great for 4 adults while there were only 3 of us. The bathroom is very clean and spacious with separate shower n bathtub. The breakfast was okay. Night market is 20 mins walking distance and train/alishan tour bus station is also about 20 mins away. Taxis in chiayi start meter is NTD 100 (much higher from taipei).

Room is very good except that there is no place to put our toiletries at the shower area. Room is clean but don't know why I still see a baby cockroach in the room. So if without the baby cockroach, it would be near to perfect.

We stayed 1 night at Day Plus before proceeding to Alishan in Sep 2012. For the price we paid, it was a great deal, as we got a free room upgrade to a triple room which was spacious. We like the hotel decor, feels very homely. In addition the room was very clean, fully equipped and well-maintained.
The only grouse I had for this hotel was its room aircon temperature would auto-adjust & I woke up in the middle of the night perspiring as the room got warm. I didn't even need to use the blanket as the bed seemed to auto-generate heat.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
There isn't much to do at night so go to Wenhua Road Night Market where it is bustling at night.

i stayed for a night in a 4-person room. the hotel room was in general clean and there's enough space for the four of us with nice decor. plus, the breakfast was a great one with enough variety to make a full breakful. the staff were willing to offer help whenever needed throughout our stay. recommended to all.
