They are really friendly & warm. One of them is always ready to help us with a plethora of questions on where to get to & how to get there. She gave a lot of good suggestions.
The hotel was also very initiative. The shower head was blocked on the day we checked in. The water flow was terribly pathetic. We didn't ask for it to be changed. Didn't occur to us; we were too tired. The next day, we were pleasantly surprised to come back to a powerful shower head! They also noted our train details & gave suggestions on what time we should check out & call the cab. It's very small things, but it's these things that count.
Hotel location was good for me. Slightly off the bustle, so it wasn't noisy. We had to walk out to shops & the city but we didn't mind. The room was small, but beds were very soft & comfy, with very thick quilts.
We always feel like we were coming home with the counter staff greeting us warmly each time we come back to the hotel.

The elevator is very tiny and a bit scary since it's so old. The room is tiny, can barely put our 2 big and 2 small luggages. The bathroom is old, but clean. Not that many restaurants in the neighbourhood. We had to walk 15-20 minutes to find nicer restaurants. Breakfast was so so. You have to pick out your breakfast menu the night before and it will be delivered to your room the next morning at the time you requested.

Excelent hotel in the middle of Hualien
My room was big enoug for one person. Both room and bathroom were very clean.

i have added to my travel some days in hualien. i had my doubts about this hotel because it seemed to be far from the station. all hotels from the city center are far from the station. i have had a great experience in hualien and if i ever go back i will choose the same hotel.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
They have helped me with search of an excursion to Taroko Park. A full day excursion with lunch included for less than 1000 TaiwanDollars. It was also a great experience

I spent two nights here on a family trip to Hualien, and was very happy with the experience. The room was on the small size, but typical for Taiwanese hotels in that regard, and was overall comfortable. The staff had mixed English levels, but they were all friendly and communicated as best as possible. The Lienfook is a little far to walk to from the station, but not impossible, though I would recommend a taxi. There are many small shops and informal restaurants in the area. If I were to say anything negative, it is that there was only one switch for all the lights, so it's best if everyone is on the same schedule. Overall, though, it was very pleasant, and we even got to rent a bike for free for a few hours.

This hotel is located walking distance from the "Golden Triangle" downtown area of Hualien, close to restaurants and shopping. They are also a short bicycle ride from the ocean/bike path. The staff didn't speak English very well, but they were always very helpful and predicted what we needed. The assistant manager speaks English quite well and we could always contact him if we needed anything. I would certainly stay here again!
