Good location for local food

This is a simple friendly hotel, breakfast choose from McDonald's manual, a bit old but newly renovated and room is basic and big, bed is very firm and nice. Although next to main street, but not many cars passes by at night, and Quiet in the room.
The only area that have Wi-Fi connection is the hotel lobby.
Walking distance to sight seeing and local food.

stayed there for three nights, and i was really satisfied with the service. the staffs let us use the washing machine and hanger without extra charge. one more memorable thing is we got Mcd as breakfast.location is good,it is nearby the shinkong mitsukoshi Department store, and Tainan tour shuttle bus.overall it is recommended to stay there.

i liked the place, the owner is very nice and helpful,
good located directly in the city and close to markets.
can walk to the train station in 20 min and take a train to kaoshiung or other place.
the room is of good size, but the bathroom is pretty old and
dificult to shower because you cannot actually fix the shower on the wall still, good value for money (paid less than in july 2012)

the hotel is very old, the bathroom is very old. no shower curtain with the bathtub...thought it's pretty odd to let the water just splashed on the floor.
they served mcdonald breakfast on our 1st day, 2nd day they provided 2 options of breakfast: bread or porridge. the staffs insisted to serve us instead of pick the food by ourselves. not a five star hotel but with a 5 stars service which made us a little uncomfortable.
no wifi in the room, need to go online has to go to lobby. it's not convenient that way especially you had a long day. you had to drag yourself out of the room just to check your email or get information where to go tomorrow.
end up, the last day in tainan city, we decided to move to cambridge hotel. we felt a lot more comfortable at cambridge hotel.

suitable hotel for backpacker/budget travelers. very clean and spartan furnishing. hotel staff were super nice and helpful. location is great as behind the hotel is a warren of small streets with local food snack vendors and shops. close to hai-an road, which is a local hangout strip of outdoor pubs & restaurants. 10 min walk to confucious temple. only down side is the room (single) had no window. pitch black interior was a bit disorienting when waking up in the morning! breakfast included daily which came from mcdonald's, not local fare.

Tainan has many old buildings that worth to visit and some of it is way to far to reach from the hotel,either by taxis or tour bus. The street is quiet but 10 minutes walk will bring to a street that full of night life and shopping centre. Chinkan Lou is near and Gonzi temple is about 10 minutes walk. Staffs are friendly and the room looks new and nice.

Near chinkan lou and few atrraction places

Clean minimalist Asian style hotel in a great location to explore historic Tainan, close to historic sites, food street. Although staff spoke limited English they were friendly and accommodating.

Note to management: please add a shower curtain to the shower and tub that can easily accommodate it so westerners don't flood the bathroom.
Restaurant Tip:
One block west of the hotel is Guohua St. A few blocks north (just south of Minzu Rd there is a large market on the west side with many great TW street food vendors.

Good value. Very helpful and friendly staff. Good location.

Good value for the money. Simple furnishings, but very clean. Very helpful and friendly staff. Good location - not the most central, but good for the money. Breakfast was fairly inedible. Western style, but cold and not very tasty. Didn't even bother with it on the second day.
