It was second time for me to stay Tainan, so I wanted to see local life of this town. This "Sai Kau Kin Old House" was suited my purpose.
Very clean and comfortable place, but once go out door, you can see local Tainan life.
There are many local restaurant nearby the hotel. These traditional food are very good and reasonable.

Traditional House Converted into Lovely Residence
Experience a modern twist on a traditional Tainan townhouse

located in a residential area. from the outside, just a traditional house, one of many in a narrow alley. the house has been very carefully converted into a clean, modern, spare but very tastefully furnished, residence.
downstairs is living room, kitchen, bathroom. upstairs is main bedroom, attic converted to a secondary bedroom and a cute sitting room. can sleep up to 6. this is not a hotel. you get to use the whole house. the owner will meet you at the place to give you the key.
if you want to experience some local flavor, as opposed to a bland hotel, this is for you. from the alley fronting the house you hear the buzz of scooters and even bits of neighbors' conversation but this is part of the experience.
the owner is a very nice, easygoing guy. overall a great and memorable experience.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Go to the Huayuan Night Market. Possible to walk there from the house, though a bit far. Or a short taxi ride. Huge crowds, great food, great atmosphere. Opens only 3 nights a week.
