Lovely hotel and service with a smile
Central location, quite near to railay station.

I had a very pleasant stay at Tainan First Hotel. The staff spoke little English but thats hardly an issue as the service was great and the smile on their faces showed that they are sincere. Family Mart and 7-11 are just across the street.I will stay there again.

Nice location but mittle bit old...
near by FamilyMart, 7-11, and cafes ...

it takes abound 5mins by taxi from tainan railway station. the hotel is too "eco" to turn on all the lights since the lobby and corridor are dark during the day time. you can either climb up stairs or take elevator to your floor. old furnitures and linen, mattress is ok. bathroom is so small without any hooks for your clothing. some hair were found out in bathtub so that i just took shower. bicycle is avalible for me to borrow any time but i suggest them to change the new ones... staff are nice, computers for guests are avalible but no wifi there, and the signal of mobile network is poor in the guest room. choices and taste are soso for breakfast, which finish at 9:30, little bit early...

Overrated hotel with below average rooms

The Tainan First Hotel left a decent impression... until we actually arrived at our room. I don't necessarily have a problem with small rooms, but in this case our 'double room' had an extra bed, which didn't leave any room for a couch. In fact, it wasn't even possible to sit at the (small) desk, because we couldn't fit the chair inbetween the desk and the bed. To make things worse, the room didn't have any windows, so people with claustrophobia need to stay clear of this hotel. The one redeeming characteristic: a comfortable bath (albeit tiny).
Hotel Feature Tip:
Hotel promotes itself with having 'in-room wifi', but I couldn't find a signal anywhere on the whole floor. There is a working ethernet port, so bring a travel router instead.
