Centrally located, convenient hotel
First, the location was superb. it was right next to the train station. Second, the breakfast was quite nice. Third, the staff were quite friendly.

Good hotel but needs improvements

The hotel is old and can use renovation in infrastructure like wireless communication, noise proofing, bath room, carpeting, modern key lock system, and so on. I am sure it can compete with any high end hotels in town if it renovates. The location is extremely nice, convenient in many ways. I like this hotel and hope one day it will be first class again.

i was asking for many information with money exchange , bank, mobile services and food.
they assisted patiencely.
however , they gave outdated information on a thai resturant which was closed down. it might be not their fault.
Shopping Tip:

Budget Hotel for a 5-star Price!

This is not a bad hotel (in fact it is very good), but it is not worth the price.
This hotel caters for the budget/business traveller, but it costs almost as much as the 5-star hotel across the street.
So if you had the money to stay here, you could spend a little extra for a 5-star property and not loose anything in convenience.
The best thing about this hotel is the location across the street from the train station.
The rooms are good and no more, though I don't know why a single traveller has to pay another US$20 for a double bed instead of two single beds.

i would not recommend this hotel to anyone. for the price you pay, you can stay at much better hotels. the hotel is old and smelly and needs a total revamp. I would just skip this hotel completely. if you want somewhere central, this is not bad but there are other probably that are better than this one.

Very comfortable hotel in good location
Comfortable room, clean, quiet and large. Internet connection. Excellent buffet dinner. Very helpful staff. Nothing was too much trouble - they were keen to help with everything. Their English is not extensive, but good enough to manage and be understood without problems.

As a solo traveller, I found this hotel in a very convenient location, quiet, clean and comfortable. The room was large, had plenty of power points and internet access in the room. I appreciate it when hotels have the mini clothes-line in the bathroom, as Tainan Hotel has. Staff were very, very helpful, despite minimal English. Breakfast, included in the price, would suit most tastes and there was plenty provided. I also had the buffet dinner, which was excellent, though perhaps a little expensive by Taiwanese standards. However, this hotel provides excellent and safe accommodation at a very reasonable price.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
The Tourist Information Centre at Tainan railway station (just across the road from the hotel) has English-speaking staff who are very helpful and able to offer good advice and suggestions. They even negotiated a price with a taxi driver for a party of three to visit the Black-faced Spoonbill Conservation Area - a must-see for anyone interested in bird-life. Also, to visit the Anping historical area (worth a visit), take either the No 2 local bus (NT$18 each way) or the tourist bus No 88 (same price) which will take you from across the road from the hotel, right to Anping. The tourist bus also has the facility to buy a day ticket (I think it's NT$100), allowing you to step-on-step-off at the many tourist and historical sites along the route.

日本語堪能な女性店員が数名います。部屋も綺麗で
とっても広いです。ここから有名どころも夜市以外歩いて観光もできました。
夜間は鍵を閉めるみたいなので、入り口を開けて貰いました。
また、朝食は和食、洋食もありますが、なんか微妙でした。種類はあると思います。初めてだと駅からだと少しだけ分かりずらいと思います。
