Very clean. Nice amenities. Courteous staff. Reasonable pricing (in Taipei). Right next to Subway.
Older neighborhood. Less shopping attractions near by.
I really like Brother hotel. Will definetely stay in Brother next time I visit. It is not a big fancy hotel, but clean, convenient, no smell (cigarette and otherwise), has several good restaurants on the lower floors, very courteous staff. I checked in around 9AM (because of an early flight). No problems. The lobby staff just gave me the room. No hassle. No negotiation. It is very good for business travellers.
For families, the location may not be too attractive. You still need to take a taxi or subway to the shopping districts or activity centers. The area is under construction for a subway extension. After it is done, it should be better location.
Restaurant Tip : 2nd floor Taiwanese Restaurant. Food is excellent. Must try.

Located literally next door to the MRT, makes it easy to get to anywhere in Taipei and Taiwan through the main station. Most of the staff speaks English and is happy to speak in English. Lost of great restaurants located in the hotel. Located near the American style "Brass Monkey" bar if you miss a Western feeling. Rooms are clean, internet is free through a network cable, free tea and coffee setup in the room.
Not too much sight-seeing within walking distance of the hotel.
This hotel is a great base camp for Taipei sightseeing or business. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff is happy to try and speak English, with someone at the desk always being quite proficient.
Restaurant Tip : The hotel is located withing a 5 minute walk of both Hooters and Brass Monkey bar/grills if you want to escape to a place with a Western feel for a bit.

Good Restaurants on site, Next to subway, Close to Airbus
The Brother hotel was just what we needed in Taipei. We were at the end of a 21 day Asia trip and we wanted a place close to subway and airport (took the airbus to and from, the stop is a block away) and that had good restaurants on site (we ate at the Dim sum and Taiwanese restaurants). There is truly a restaurant for everyone at this hotel. Staff was also very friendly and knowledgable, providing maps and directions to sites etc. I would defnitely stay here again.
