Old hotel.
Located within Taipei city, convenient to bus stop but need to walk 10-15 minutes to MRT.

The room inside is terrible. 1. Wall is cracking. 2. My wife and I felt inchy lying on the bed, therefore we bought linens to wrap us to avoid skin touching with bed and cover.
We decide NOT to choose this hotel next time.

The staff here were amazing, let me check in early and let me leave my suitcase there a few days after checking out. Very good language skills in Japanese and English.
Internet in the room is LAN, not wifi, and the internet didn't work at all in my room. However, I had great 3G service, so just tethered my computer to my Taiwanese mobile. Probably ended up being a lot faster...
Breakfast is limited, but quite good: veggies, noodles, boiled eggs and some fried noodles (actually quite good).
I would recommend this hotel to other travellers; it's well-priced, friendly and conveniently located.

You will find comfortable beds and bedding, clean rooms and efficient and welcoming staff.
Breakfast is included but limited in selection, it's tasty but can also be cold if you happen to have breakfast in the later part of the morning

it is near the zhong shan night market, good food is available easily

i reached before the check-in time on my first day and the counter staff help me to keep my luggage so that i am able to move around the city before checking in at a later time.
when i first got the room, i realise the bath tub is partly chipped and rusting, got a room change immediately without much issues. room is relatively big and comfortable. not much of a view though.
Do note also that the wifi is only available on the first floor, which makes the stay pretty inconvenient when you have to check out certain location before leaving.
Nightlife Tip:
taipei is well know for it's night market and night activites, do visit clubs such as MYST & Lava.
