A recently renovated moderately priced hotel perfect for backpackers, budgeters and business travelers who intend to spend a lot of time exploring the city.
Pick up a quick breakfast of pastries and coffee from the coffee shop or have a large breakfast from the café in the mornings. The guestrooms are comfortable and all have sofas, earth toned hues, refrigerators and cable television. Enjoy wireless internet all over the hotel. Although many modes of public transportation are available, the Ximen Metro station is only a short walk away and attractions like the World Trade Center and Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall are only a few stations ahead.
The 24 hour reception, business center, and travel desk all contribute to a comfortable stay at the Good Ground Hotel.

Cheap and very accessible.
Very small rooms and limited services provided.
If you are on budget and don't really mine cramp rooms, Good Ground Hotel is an ideal choice. It only takes about 3 minutes to get to the Ximending Train Station from the hotel. In addition, the hotel is surrounded by food, clothes and entertainment stalls.
However, the hotel front desk does not provide many services that you could get in a more 'up-class' hotel. Besides umbrella rentals, they do not really provide any significant customer service.
Food wise, I highly recommend not taking the hotel's meals. They do not look appealing. Just take a short walk around the hotel's vincinity and I am sure you will be able to find better food.
There is a Family Mart just beside the hotel so if you have any household products that you require, you can just drop by and grab them.
Overall, Good Ground is pretty value for money if you are on a budget or do not intend to spend a lot of time in the hotel.
Nightlife Tip : Please check out Luxy Club - I can't really remember which train station it is at but it is something not to be missed. It's less than 5 stops away if I remember correctly.

This hotel is in the center of Taipei.
Little space for little money.
The location of this hotel is great and it is really cheap; however, don't expect too much comfort because this is really just a hotel to sleep. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I did not try the breakfast but I think it is best to eat somewhere else. Public transport is not far away, which is very convenient. I recommend this place for people who don't need any extra comfort.

The staff was very helpful, but the room was very very small, i booked a room but the room only had 1 bed, i had to change room and pay extra for the bed. we stayed on the second floor near the stairs, it was very very noisey. There are better hotels in the Shilin area, Goree hotel i think.. the price was the same.. too bad
Restaurant Tip : try the dessert place besides the shabu shabu place nearby...
