Is like a piece of history

Is falling in parts

We arrive and the room was like a 2mts by 2mts with a small window looking at the elevator and not electricity (you can not get a better room with the prices that you pay)), we change room after two hours and a extra 1000NT payment ( that room did not have electricity either ) , finally at 11:30 PM we where directed to a new room this time with electricity .Old , noisy , dirt,.... you can put as many adjectives as you remember

Grand entrance and friendly staff. Breakfast was OK. Good shuttle bus to and from MRT which allowed for easy access to the city and to have a good look around.

Little noisy, but it was New Years Eve so to be expected I suppose.

All in all very impressed with the city of Taipei. Staff at hotel, like the people around were friendly and only too pleased to help out. Shuttle bus from hotel ran fairly frequently and allowed for easy access to a very interesting sight seeing tour of Taipei. Very easy to get around from place to place on MRT and reasonably priced as well.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Chiang Kai-shek museum was fabulous and worth the walk around. Walking off the main roads to the little side street markets was also something not to be missed.

The extraordinary architectural features and oriental atmosphere of this hotel is really amusing. The traditional Chinese wooden furniture in the guest room provides with a very relaxing experience. As the hotel is located on the hill, the view overlooking the river, Taipei 101 and Taipei city is excellent. The free shuttle bus to the Yuanshan MRT station is convenient. The food served in the Golden Dragon restaurant was authentic and delicious.

The hotel building is rather old and not so well maintained.

Thanks for upgrading our room. We really enjoyed the Cantonese food, such as steamed garoupa fish, fried yi-mian noodles and drunken chicken. We took many pictures in the hotel lobby area.

Traditional and elegant, but... Guest Rating: 5.7

well educated staff high reputation

narrow room no window in a room

The hotel is so prestigious that everybody in Taipei knows where it is. The free shuttle bus ease our transportation to any MTR stations. Despite the good service offered by nice staff, the room we stayed was pretty disappointing. The room has a thin wall that doesn't shut out noise from the corridor. There are only two beds, one set of small table and chair, and TV set. I don't hesitate to stay this hotel again, but I'd confirm how the room assigned will be like in advance next time.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The biggest night market is close. Taking 10mins by cab.

We enjoyed the traditional historical value of the hotel. The restaurants were mediocre, but the hotel had good service.

The shopping area was small and lacking of any real merchandise other than small gifts that one could also get at a night market.

I felt that the Grand Hotel in Taipei lived up to my expectations of a four star hotel. I enjoyed the architectural and historical value that came with staying there. The restaurants were mediocre at best, but they did have a large selection from breakfast buffet, Northern-style dumplings, traditional Cantonese-style, and a cafe near the lobby. The cost for internet use in the business center was too expensive for what little time they give you. For such a older hotel in Taipei it was in good condition.

The historical and architectural value, the view to the city, the location that sits in the middle of the Yuanshan park, convenient shuttle from Taipei metro and great concierge service.

Small gift shop, location is out of the way from the city center and mediocre restaurant.

The Grand Hotel in Taipei lived up to expectations. The concierge was superb and was very willing to make reservations for us at restaurants in the 80th-ish floor of the Taipei 101. They also provided us with a good selection for sight-seeing tours that picked us up straight from the hotel. The restaurant selection while having a wide range, lacked in the quality of food. The roooms were decent and provided a great view of the city.

Hotel Feature Tip : Great concierge service

Remember to take the handy minibus directly to the hotel from Yuen Shan station.

Hotel Feature Tip : Request a deluxe room for the balcony.

Inside and outside the building, the hotel is a prestigious luxury.

Badget called the room type of stay in the room, no windows, narrow滅茶苦茶, poor facilities and the hotel is three parallel flow.

I feel absolutely furious at the Grand Hotel with the name of the scam!

Travel tip : I used to book a bus shuttle to the airport to return home. Omnibus for close to half-hour ride took about 1.2 hours, cost is cheap and 90NT $. Jam at the entrance to the hotel, the mood was getting a little bit.
