5mins walk to the MTR

The lobby is small and the breakfast is not fantastic as the variety very little. The room is huge with huge bathroom and the bathroom comes with a tv where you can rest in the bathtub while enjoying watching tv show. Just across the street, there is a Tou Jiang stall. Name of the stall is Yong He Tou Jiang Da Wang. They selling tou jiang and you tiao with some buns and carrot cake and further walk down there are Mos Burger, Starbucks and around the corner there is one local restaurant selling Lu Rou Fan which is very nice. The restaurant name is Formosa Chang. They have very nice chicken set meal too, the soup are nice too.

decent business hotel in central taipei

decent priced business hotel. not many restaurants in the immediate area, but it is central and can easily catch a taxi or take other public transport.
best part is the room size, comfortable bed and open spaced bathroom/jacuzzi bathtub. very large tub, and shower has high pressure.
negatives: getting a little old around the edges. not too bad though. also if you are staying on the side facing the main road it can be quite noisy in the morning as the windows are not very thick and sound passes through easily.

not a good or bad point, but they have a lot of functions in the lobby/breakfast area. we stayed there two days, and on the first morning there was a speed dating gathering which went on all day - we actually got kicked out of the breakfast area to make space for this! On the second evening there was a salsa event, which was open to everyone though.
not bad value for size, comfort and convenience, however

This was unexpected luxury. Staff with excellent English checked us in and made us lovely cocktails as part of our room package. The room is a unique design and we felt like we were staying at a very luxurious hotel. the bathroom is equipped with a tv, view of the 101 tower and room for two to soak comfortably in the tub! Breakfast was a mixture of exquisite sushi and western choices. Some of the best sauteed eggplant I've ever had and it was at a breakfast buffet. Wow. I would go out of my way to stay at this hotel again. The people who run this hotel clearly like their jobs.
