Hotel River View has a nice Tan Sui He view. exspecially at night time . clean room. frienly house keeping . good service . and near to Shi Men Ting shopping mall. is easy to get the transport .like MRT Station .

Stayed with them and change rooms due to extending stay in Taiwan. For some reason the standard rooms I booked were fully book and surprising they gave me the suite. It was huge but the furnishing is old compare to the standard room I staying on the 2nd floor. Overrall the location of hotel is very good as its very near the high way to 101 shopping area and walking distance to ximending street.

Location is very good, walking to distance to ximending shopping district and walking distant to 7-11. One of the best hotel if you wish to stay in ximending area. Room is reasonable big. Change room once and realised the some of the rooms are more newly furnished.

The hotel didn't surprise me in either sense. This hotel is not new, but it is well-maintained. Facilities in the room are clean. I also appreciate the High Definition TV a lot. Would be better if hotel offers HDMI cable as well, so that travellers can connect their smart gadgets to the TV.
The hotel is also right next to a busy high way. The noise of the traffic is a bit annoying. You would not like to stay right next to a busy flyover. Do consider this if you are wary of such traffic.
In terms of location, it is some distance away from Ximen metro station. From Taipei train station, you can take a bus (No. 221 and some others) and get off at Ximen Primary School 西門國小. The hotel is 200m from the bus stop.
Moreover, Chengdu Street 成都街 (which leads you to the hotel) is not too pedestrian friendly. The hotel allows for parking on the pedestrian way, which forces the pedestrian to walk on the carriageway. My suggestion is to walk along E mei Street 峨眉街 instead.
There are many buses stopping at the bus stops nearby. Some can bring you to 故宮博物院、Science Centre in the northern part of the city directly. Use google map to find them out.
