It's a bit aged but the location is good. Room is spacious and furnitures are comfortable

Drainage gives out smell some times and newspaper should be packed with a cloth or plastic bag rather than just putting it on the floor

Howard Plaza is basically a good hotel and I can feel the staff have done their job at the best possible standard. Hardwares, especially drainage replacement or frequent cleaning ( internal pipe) is recommended. Restuarants here are at top quality from a Chinese visitor standpoint, not foreigners maybe, as it is quite a Chinese operated hotel.Locationwise is perfect and a varirty choices of transpotation means are available and train station is quite nearby. I will consider to stay in Howard Plaza in my next trip to Taipei.

Restaurant Tip : Beef Noodle here is the best I have ever tried

location.

internet connection.

Very old hotel but very clean. I really disappointed that there is not free internet connection in room. Also the hotel guide in room are very old. If you do not bring your PC, then there is no problem to stay this hotel.

Very clean and affordably priced. Staff was always helpful and polite. Beautiful atrium area. Centrally located.

Breakfast buffet seemed very expensive Shop keepers downstairs were aggressive

We were very pleased with the hotel. Room faced the inner atrium so it was very quiet. The staff was very helpful. Location to MRT and Sogo shopping was excellent. Jade and Flower Markets are also close by. We would definitely stay at Howard Plaza on our next trip to Taipei.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Hotel is close to the MRT for quick access to a large number of locations

Selection of restaurants in the hotel, very friendly staff.

This hotel was very reasonably priced for what you got. There were numerous restaurants in the hotel with all different types of cuisine. To be quite honest, I have had the best french fries of my life at one of the restaurants there. The staff is so friendly and professional as well. The rooms were comfortable and I have no complaints!

Good location, clean, comfortable, friendly and attentive staff

Hotel restaurants are a little expensive

An old favourite of mine, I have stayed at the Howard Plaza many times and have never been disappointed. The staff are attentive and welcoming and always keen to help out with directions, and writing addresses in Chinese. The hotel is close to an MTR station and also within walking distance of good shopping/restaurants. Although the hotel is a little old now, the rooms are still very good value and the Howard Plaza is hard to beat.

Restaurant Tip : The hotel restaurants are a little expensive - go for a stroll in the little streets around the hotel. It's perfectly safe and you'll come across some interesting dining experiences!

The hotel location is very near metro subway and other bus services are nearby. The hotel rooms are very comfortable and provides all necessities such as tooth brushes, razors, etc.. The hotel employees are very courtesy and very helpful. You have the choices for western or oriental style food. Several restauranats are located within the hotel for your convenience. We have a pleasant stay here.

Travel tip : Banks and local food stores are nearby.

The location of this hotel is very nice.Access to the station, convenience store and the local restaurant is quite good.I would choose this hotel for next stay in Taipei.

The first impression of the hotel is too near from the railway and could be noisy. But in the room it was not noisy and I felt ease. The hotel room was relatively big for standard room and clean. This hotel is located apart from other famous big hotels but in the city center.Even in the midnight I could walk to the bar.

Good location not too far from MRT big hotel. Price acceptable

Old hotel especially toliet for bed&room side is ok not too bad as bathroom. Hot water operate not so good have to adjust quite often. Please don't try the breakfast really not worth enough the most night mare breakfast.

Good hotel compare to price bed room is good but not include the old looking toilet. Location not next to MRT but not so far only 5 - 10 Mins walk to SOGO and ZhongXiao FuXing Station. However have to improve the breakfast a lot only local food is not good enough with that price of breakfast Grand Formosa and Hyatte offer a lot better than Howard offer. For breakfast I am very impress in Grand Formosa but the room price is terrible. When check out even with the quick check out card still check out me with wrong room number :(. However still good hotel if you have no need for hotel breakfast.

Shopping Tip : SOGO and 1 MRT station ZhongXiao XingZen

- good service and english speaking staff - good taxi service - shops for clothes in the building - international power-plugs in the room

- expensive room services - not so convenient location if not using taxi (5-10mins walk to next subway station)

It is a good hotel for business trips. It's name is known in the city and most people will know where to find you if you say you stay at "howard plaza". It is right next to the business district of the city and taxi trips are cheap to there. Taxis are always available for you at the hotel entry. The draw back is, in case you prefer subway travel, you need to walk first 5-10min to the next MRT station. It wouldn't be so bad if it is not killing hot outside in Taiwan. Room services are more expensive but in line with hotels of this class. Staff is very forthcoming and speaks very well english.

Restaurant Tip : Near the closest MRT Station there is a building (abound 6-8 flors) all restaurants.

For those who prefer to make your money worth, they can even take the airport bus service which is at the door of the Howard Hotel.

Nightlife Tip : You can take the Metro to Shilin night market which I think is the biggest in Taipei.

Do not drink water direct from the tap. Howard is so wonderful that besides providing a bottle of drinking water for each guest which is a stardard item in all hotels in Taiwan, the hotel even have a special tap providing drinking water 24 hours a day. Bravo!
