This hotel is from the golden age of hotels. Good service, bell boys, doorman, etc. They upgraded me to a junior suite because regular rooms were full. It was beautiful. The bed had the best pillows I've used for a long time. I had 2 well stocked bars, a small lounge, 2 huge LCD TV's and in the bathroom, 2 showers!
A very nice hotel at reasonable cost.
The area once called the combat zone has seen very little action in recent years. The area is quite run down.
- Nightlife Tip : If you are going to stay in the 'Combat Zone' for a bit of Bangkok type nightlife, forget it.
great hotel overall

The location of the hotel is good. There are a lot of food at the back of the hotel. The hotel staff were all friendly. One thing though is the room, it is kind of small for 2 person for this price. Overall, it is still a great hotel and will definitely come back next time.
Location is good.
Room is quite small for 2 person.

I had a most pleasant stay at the Imperial hotel which began when I was upgraded to a better room on check-in. The room was very comfortable with all of the features you would expect from a 5-star, even though the hotel is fairly old. It wasn't such a good location for me because my business contacts were on the other side of town, closer to the 101 Building. Otherwise, location is fine.
Good room, friendly staff.
Location. Tariff did not include breakfast.

Hotel good situated in downtown area.Very friendly and helpful staff-speaking english. This is very important in Taipei City. Many good restaurants inside the Hotel.I especially prefere buffet dinner at 2 floor Cafe. Rooms are mid sized but clean and luxury furnished.Beds in twin room are somewhat to little /in width/,but comfortable.Hotel rates are very resonable to overall quality.I recommend this Hotel.
Good localisation in downtown area.

Was once a really flash 5 star hotel run by one of the big groups. It has been sold on and even though it may have lost a star of two on the big international hotel standards, this place still has it all. All it lacks is a bit of fresh varnishing on some of the woodwork, but hey, who's complaining? Possibly the most comfortable beds and pillowsin all of Northern Asia!
Since the last visit they have changed the bar/restaurant menu to Thai and it is really fantastic food.
The internet connection in teh room fights with Norton. Who do you blame, Norton or the hotel's internet? I'll leave it for you to decide!
- Nightlife Tip : The hotel is right in the middle of a great bar and street food area. Take a walk!

Was once a big 5 star and InterContinental sold it rather than doing it up an retaining the stars. It's as clean as a whistle, and with a coat of varnish would be 5 star again, but somehow this is why it's so good. All the features are there, the staff are fantastic and the rooms are great for the price.
- Nightlife Tip : A million bars are right around the back of the hotel.
Great value
