the location of this hotel is very good as it is located in ximengding, which is one of the bustling areas of taipei. it is also near the mrt (subway of taiwan).

Great location but rooms abit old

My stay at rainbow hotel with my wife was enjoyable. good food like ah zhong mee suan is just around the corner and there is alot of shops around. Bubble tea is just next door. hotel has free wifi which is handy. a short walk u can find taipei metro ximen station. there is also a cinema nearby if u want to catch a movie

Great location, room and service staff
Spacious room, friendly staff, clean room.

I enjoyed my stay at Rainbow hotel.
The locaton was at Ximending, surrounded with shopping and eating places.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. They always greet us with a smile.
The room and toilet is clean and spacious.

we ran out of twd and returned to taipei quite late, when all the banks were closed. luckily, the counter staff at the hotel exchanged some local currency with us (at a reasonable exchange rate).
Restaurant Tip:
Great bittergourd juice at the corner!

Very disappointed stay

Together with my girlfriend, we stayed in Rainbow hotel from 30th april to 2nd May. Our stay with Rainbow was quite disappointing.
Firstly, I think the staffs seriously need to be work on their customer service skills. When I first came at 3 pm to check in, the staff was busy picking up phone calls and had no time to entertain me. Then, when she finally had the time to check for me, she told me that my room was not ready and had to wait another while before I could check in. But, should't I be allowed to check in since the hotel check in policy did stated that the check in time is 2 pm?
After checking in, I was pretty disappointed with the room. It was pathetically small, with very limited walking space in the room. After putting our luggage in the room, we barely could walk around the room. So, we were very disappointed with the room provided considered the price we paid.
Then, on my last day in taipei, the staffs had proven me that they seriously need to work on their customer service skills. I requested the staff to help me purchase two bus tickets to Tao yuan airport. I asked twice if the tickets were booked and the staff, a lady, assured me that she had done what had been told. However, upon checking out, I asked for the direction to the waiting point for the bus transfer, she gave me a shock and told me that she had forgot about it. Even though she did tried to offer me some alternatives, but, I was already very upset and disappointed for the way things were handled.
On the other hand, to be fair to rainbow, the only thing that I really like is the location for it is located at the heart of Xinmending. But, because of the pathetic room size and poor service provided, I did not enjoy my stay with Rainbow at all. Think twice before booking!

Location is ideal but rooms are very small

Location is ideal for young people looking for fashionable and latest clothes and accessories. However, for matured couple like us, we find the place too crowded and noisy. The items on sale do not fit our profile. There are plenty of eating outlets, but standard and quality of food is just average. The hotel's distance to the Ximen MRT station is of course a plus, its only less then 5 mins to the station.
In terms of the rooms, we were totally surprised. The room fits one queen sized bed and that's about it. Extra space are for the dressing table and TV console. After you open the door, you need to only take two steps to the bed. That's how small the room is. However, the room is clean and air conditioning fine.
I would only recommend this hotel for its location near to MRT only.
I also find out that the rates which we booked with Agoda is about USD more than what the hotel charged.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Visit Taipei 101 for a good view of Taipei city and surrounding area.

A nice location hotel with nice customer service. Rooms pretty small, however most of the time I were not in the hotel, not a big problem for me.
