hotel has got most facilities, however, a bit old.
hotel staff friendly to give directions however not caring. on of our family member fell sick during the trip, we wanted to look for a doctor to come to the hotel. However, hotel staff claim that no doctors would come to the hotel and that we have to make our own way to the hospital in the pouring rain. Luckily, we called our bank in Singapore to arrange for a doctor in Taipei to come to the hotel. The doctor came within 45 min. And the doctor told us he's located just few streets away, and he does provide house call visits. It's either the hotel staff are ill-informed or they just couldn't care less?
Hotel Feature Tip:
if any family member/travel buddy is feeling unwell, can buy congee from the hong kong restaurant diagonally opposite hotel.

Nice Hotel, Great Location
10
Great location for a reasonably priced hotel. The breakfast served was interesting, as it was more Japanese than Taiwanese. We were hoping for some local flare. The hotel staff were friendly and more than willing to help in translating the places you would want to see in chinese characters, so that it would be easier to tell the taxi driver where you would want to go.

Good location but room is rather small
Good facility such as free wifi and gym room
6.7
I was impressed by the free drinks and fruit provided by the hotel. Though the gym room is quite small with two running machines only , but is sufficient for a short stay like me who want to stretch your body
Travel tip:
My room was without any view

Good location + free business centre!
Location + free parking, business centre & gym
8.7
2nd time staying here within the same year.
pros: a comfortable and convenient hotel with free visitors parking, business centre and gym - even if the latter 2 are a bit small e.g. 6 computers in english and chinese.
excellent location for business and leisure travellers alike for its convenient location to mtr and shopping malls/boutiques. good central location to others places as the mrt is just a stone's throw away. sogo is across the road and there are lots of smaller boutiques nearby. also relatively safe and quiet.
cons: the entrance can be a little difficult to find as it's at the back of the main street. airport buses stop near zhongxiao fuxing, then walk about 15-20mins; it's past sogo. if you're travelling with huge luggages, it's best to take a cab. otherwise, take the mtr.
summary: good for short stays or affordable if the exchange rate is advantageous.
Shopping Tip:
Sogo is just opposite. There's also the MRT underground shopping and heaps of smaller boutiques nearby.

Great location, nice resturant & friendly staff
The location is great. couple minutes walk to resturants and shops
9.3
We stayed 2 nights in the Royal Palace hotel. The location is the best advantage of all. Only 5 minutes walk from the railway and not too expensive to travel by taxi either. The room is clean and tiny, a little bit smaller than expected but overall it was a pleasant stay.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
If you find the night food market is too packed, take the railway to Danshui terminus. This is the area by the bayside and there are many local food shops you can try all kind of TW street food with a nice sunset view too.
