Good location but old furnitures and carpet

Hotel is in a central location with shops and access to subway. The room has old furnitures and TV (tube), no shelf space to put clothes, and old carpet. We booked the deluxe room, therefore, it has sufficient space. The bed and pillow are comfortable. The bath room has been remodeled, but it doesn't have bars to hange towels. I like the breakfast buffet and wifi access.
This should be a 4 stars, not a 5 stars, rating hotel.

The stay was generally good as the room was very spacious for 4pax in a room. The only disappointing concern is there was so spare pillow in the cupboard. The location was good as it was near shopping areas with nice eating food

i've been staying for 4 days at the sanwant. the stay was really nice and so are the staff, in the end i was almost sorry to leave.
upon arriving i found myself in a valley of smiles from the very first person i met at reception counter. they explained everything i had available and gave me a cable for internet access and the password to use the service very quickly.
entering the room, it was clean and quiet (couldn't hear a noise). the bathroom is also spacious and very clean. the shower seems to be bigger than my house.
the bed was one thing that if i could take him home, i would have done. hard in the right places and comfortable....
very rich and tasty breakfast, i love scrambled eggs,and i found the best around. with each breakfast i became more spoiled.
these are the things that made me enjoy my stay at this hotel, but my warmest congratulations to the hotel for their choice of personnel. they know how to really make you feel at home, and if you need anything it is like asking a family member. congratulations from the heart, you were fantastic.

Fantabulous hotel but rather small rooms

Found this hotel by accident on Agoda.com. The hotel was located right in zhongxiao bustling shopping district. It was reachable by MRT as the MRT station (Zhongxiao Dunghua) was right next to the hotel, literally. Everything else such as Sogo, Standard Chartered bank and the night market (not Shilin) were just within walking distance. The breakfast was good as they served variety of food, keeping me excited every morning. The only downside about the hotel was that it appeared to be a little bit old fashioned. In addition to that, the room was quite small. The other plus point was that the hotel has its own little gym, a great place to sweat all the smelly tofu, oyster omelette out. All in all, I was beyond satisfied with my stay at San want hotel. I will definitely return to San Want on my next visit to Taipei.

Getting from San Want hotel to Beitou Hot Spring:
From Zhongxiao Dung Hua station, take MRT to the Taipei Main Station on Bannan (blue) line. Get off at Taipei Main Station and change to red line heading Tamsui terminal station. Get off at Beitou station and hop onto Pink line on your journey to Xinbeitou.
Getting from San Want Hotel to Taipei 101:
ZhongXiao Dung Hua to Taipei City Hall. Walk through myriad of high class shopping mall and you will reach Taipei 101 within 15 minutes.

Close to all sorts of restaurants, stores and pubs. Getting around was easy with buses or trains.
