Great location but small rooms

Good location. near to major tourist spots. There are a lot of eateries nearby. One night market nearby too. Only cons is that hotel room is small. But it doesnt bother us much as we only come back for sleep. Breakfast is included too..

The hotel room is a bit small but very clean and nice. The rooms have good airconditioning and the bathroom has a good heater for water. The location also is very convenient since its near so many reataurants and also near the mrt. If you wish to take a taxi it is also convenient right in front of the hotel. The experience is very pleasurable and the price is reasonable. Plus they also have free breakfast.

thee hotel is best value for its locaitons , just across the road to xuang lien station,very suitable for travelling , and besides , it is in the drop point of the airport public transport.
Night market is nearby.

this hotel is in the centre of taipei and you can go any way with
the train station that is very near the hotel probably 3-5 mins away.
room is big with a jaccuzi tub and many toiletries are available.
there are many eateries and the hotel serves nice breakfast and the coffee machine ensures you can have a cup of coffee anytime of the day.
i had a meeting in the lobby with free coffee.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Take the train and you can explore Taipei if you have the time.

we stayed there for 3 nights and i have to say, this trip was the most comfortable i have ever experienced. our hotel was near to the market, schools that we visited, hospital, and especially a short walk going to the train. the staff were very friendly to lead and help book us with some of our tourist destinations. the also helped us book our flight and assisted us to the bus stop going back to the airport.

Our stay in the hotel was very relaxing, the room was kept clean, airconditioning works well and we were able to sleep soundly. This is needed especially when we travel a lot the whole day. It is also near the train station that can bring us anywhere around Taiwan. A wet market is near our hotel were we bought exotic fruits and vegetables.

Hotel is located near Shuanglian MRT. Near eateries and convenience stores.

Service staff were polite; room was clean except for the smell of cigarettes that lingered in the air; simple breakfast.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Hotel is just a few bus-stops away from the dried food stores at Dihua Street, within walking distance to a wenchang temple, near Shuanglian MRT which will get you direct to Danshui and Shilin night market and Beitou where the hot springs are.

Great location
The location was excellent and so were the staff at the front desk. 2 minute walk from Shuanglian Station, 1 minute from the Evergreen airport bus stop. The bath was also excellent.

We stayed at this hotel because the location was so perfect for sightseeing and shopping.
The hotel was a little dated, in the superior single rooms there was one window but the light was completely blocked by the wall of the building next door. Even with all the lights on, the room was very dark. It was not a very pleasant place to relax, I would only recommend it for short stays where you don't intend to spend much time in the room.
There were some previous comments about the aircon, but it can be controlled from the room and was completely manageable.
The chambermaids were quite noisy in the mornings.
Having said all this, I would still highly recommend the Shin Shih for its location.
Restaurant Tip:
Leave the hotel and turn right, round the first corner, pass the police station. There is a little noodle place that has white walls on the inside. The owner speaks great English and the noodles are delicious!

Convenient location for free and easy travelers

Second stay at this hotel. 2-3mins walk to shuanglian train station. The room was spacious for 2 travelers. There's a sofa couch beside the bed. It came with jacuzzi bathtub which was nice to relax in after a long day. Breakfast is repetitive and limited, but good enough for a simple meal and daily dose of caffeine. There are many eateries around the hotel.
Around 10mins walk to Ning Xia night market, which sells lots of food and opens till late in the night. There's a supermarket, carrefour, a further 5mins walk from night market. There are popular fast food joints 5mins walk from the hotel, and a cafe and 24 hr convenience shop just beside.
Hospital is across the road, police post is beside the hotel.. So there tends to be siren sound in the night, although it doesn't affect my sleep.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Take evergreen bus 5201 from Taoyuan airport. Stop at shuanglian train station and walk 3-5mins to the hotel. The same bus brings you back to airport. Convenient and cheaper than taking cab.
