compare to old holiday inn asia world, it quite backward hotel impression.
extra point for it's great accessbility to shopping area and food court near hotel and metro.
also, it has a bus stop to international airport very very convienent.
however, room and facility is not very good.

Good location, and thats about it....

Near my office, and thats about it. Rooms tired and run down, dirty carpets and chairs, high level of noise from street, loud China tourist walk halls with out any courtesy. Oh, at least there was a gym that nobody used.

An oridinary hotel with good service. Large room, clean & tidy. Location is fine with shops & restaurants around. Price is fair. The only thing not very good is the age of the hotel. Overall is a good experience.

Great location but under renovation

the hotel is now under renovation, when i was there, the water went off from 11pm - 5am on 21-21 mar 12, no complimentary from the hotel, which is kinda upset me... anyways the location is great and all, easy to walk to a skytrain around 5 minutes, next door to the mall, IKEA, etc.

Dated hotel, bare facilities, rundown rooms
Only saving grace is its central location and friendly hotel staff

This was a 3 night stay with my wife to be. Being our second time in Taipei, we chose this hotel as it looked to be very grand on the web. Also, the location was accesible to various shopping district. However, the stay was terrible. The hotel was very dated. The room door was old and the paint was peeling off. In the room, the carpet was old, hair dryer was working intermittently, power point was down, television was dated...the moment we went into the room, we both decided that the best thing to do is to spend more of our time outside.

Good Facility hotel but rather old

it is located near the center which is convenient if you go for business. there are shops around but not really near the heart of shopping center. hotel staffs were helpful. the hotel itself is big but rather old. they are renovating at this moment. the internet was not free but cost per day. the room was cold and the heater did not seem to work very well.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
5 minute walk to mrt

The hotel was likely at one time one of the better hotels in Taipei but now rather outdated. The hotel is consequently going under a much needed renovation that is to be completed in 2013. We were not disturbed by any noise and our stay was still pleasant. A 10 to 15 walk to the metro is required but easy to find.
Travel tip:
The hotel seems to cater to large groups such as bus tour companies.

a complete disaster from arrive until leaving

we arrive late at night (around 23:30) and we were guested in floor 12 and we couldn't acces to our rooms because of the codification of the card. it took half an hour to be able to cross the gate of executive club when finally your people made a good codification. we tried to reach the room service to have some dinner, it took us a quarter more to reach anyone at the phone and we were told that minimum it will take 50 minutes to make a simple meal. we decided to go to bed without dinner.
in the morning we have a meeting with a customer. i took him to have breakfast, so we asked to charge it to our rooms, the girl spoke directly with our customer in chinese (instead that with us that were your customer) explaining that there were no way to take breakfast in that floor (were we were guested). so we had to leave really angry.

the room is quiet big only need to be updated and replaced like carpet, shower, tv, and all others.
on that time there is a renovation going on so maybe next year there will be new sunworld hotel.
