the room is not very spacious, but has everything it suppose to have. the hotel is within eight minutes' walk to mrt station and can reach most tourist destinations in taipei in 20 minutes at most. there are a lot of food to choose in the street next to the hotel.

Located at less than 5 minute's walk from the closest MRT station, the hotel offers quality service with all standard facilities. Food is at moderate quality in general.

Christmas at the Landis - 3 years running
central location near late night massage places. Easy to get taxis. Staff generally friendly and helpful. My sister was sharing a room with a friend who came down with a cold. They asked for tea with honey from room service at 3 am. Room service said no charge for the tea because the guest wasn't feeling well. Another friend's son decided to stay in as he was feeling a bit under the weather and ordered plain congee and toast. Room service also guessed that he wasn't feeling well and alerted his mother! Mother runs up to room in a panic to check on son. Well-meaning and caring room service staff!

We have stayed at the Landis for the past 3 Christmases. Before that we stayed at the Sherwood which is in a more business neighbourhood and thus a bit cold. The first couple of years at the Landis was great -- there was a really good front desk manager who was super helpful. This time, there didn't seem to be anyone like that in the front. There was a guy but he didn't seem as knowledgeable as the previous one. The hotel has also become more crowded at Christmas (generally a quiet time in Taipei) as the secret has gotten out. The Landis is a small cozy hotel and they do have a personal touch. The one bad experience was a bellhop who was clearly overworked and was rude to my sister...twice. We spoke to the manager who immediately went to speak to the bellhop. Not sure what happened as all this happened as we were leaving for the airport.
Nightlife Tip:
A couple of late night massage places a block away from the hotel. GReat to get a massage after dinner and come back to the hotel to sleep! Also 85C for coffee -- better than Starbucks.

Hilfreicher und sehr aufmerksamer Service. Die Räume sind zwar mit allen Annehmlichkeiten ausgestattet, wirken vom Design her etwas angestaubt. Wem die irgendwo zwischen nikotingelb und moosgrün gehaltenen Zimmer und Flure nicht stören, dem kann ich dieses Hotel wärmstens empfehlen. Als nette Geste gab es am frühen Abend Kekse aufs Zimmer.
