1. only stayed for one night, which is enough to explore the surroundings, but if you want to relax in the beautiful environment, need to stay for longer
2. Our room was facing the street, so if you want to experience the best that the hotel has to offer, please choose a room with view (which is lovely)
3. dinner was exquisite, but took too long (2.5 hrs)
In summary, either stay at the higher end rooms, or go to another hotel

One of the best getaway spots near Taipei

My girlfriend and I needed to get away from the daily grind and this is probably the best getaway spot near the Taipei metro area. A short ride takes you completely away from the city. The hot spring provides total relaxation to the body, especially on a cold day. The view of the river and mountain gives a total sense of serenity. We stayed in the roof top suite. We were at the balcony listening to the afternoon drumming session and seeing the trees sway with the wind passing through the area. That was an instant relief from all the stress.
The staff were remarkable and the dinner was very nicely prepared. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening there and would love to go back there. It was a bit pricey but if the rate would just come down a bit, I will definitely visit there more often. For visitors coming to Taiwan, I would really recommend the place if they are willing to spend the money.

I really enjoyed the stay in this hotel. The french dinner was very good. The enviroment is so relax and beautiful. Strongly recommend to stay this hotel if u want to have a completely rest.

Unlike all the other Taiwanese hotel I have stayed in, the staff were very knowledgeable about wulai and friendly. They were always ready to help you. My room was very resort like. It was extremely clean and comfortable. The free 8 course (i think) dinner and breakfast provided daily was scrumptious! Two thumbs up!

Better hire a taxi for half day to get around the nearby areas as the hotel is a small distance from the local sttractions

Relaxing weekend breakaway

Despite the expensive price tag, Volando has lived up to my expectation and was everything I looked for a peaceful, relaxing weekend breakaway. The location is great and the view overlooking the river is lovely. We had dinner at the french restaurant and the food was much better than i had anticipated. Overall it has been a wonderful experience.
