Although the hotel is old, we suprisingly found the bed is very convenient to sleep. The hotel is located outside of XiMenDing main shopping area and takes about 5 mins walk to Ximending MRT station. You can find 7-11 store on the way to mrt station. The breakfast cafe is located at the rooftop and they provide good foods.
Shopping Tip:
Ximending shoppping area is about 10 mins walk from the hotel.

Hotel is old, breakfast is so-so;but location is good (very close to the subway and main train staition) but its o.k. if you are in Taipei for sightseeing. I'd stay at the Lilai again.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Ximen district is really close to the hotel. It's worth visiting. You can try some local food.
There are a lot of Japanese restaurants around Lilai.
It's really easy to get to any part of Taipei via metro!!!

The stay was pleasant, with a clean room as well as many convenient stores in the vicinity. It is also close to the MRT as well as to Ximending shopping district (5 min walk). The breakfast was poor and unappetising, thankfully there are nice breakfast shops around the area.

Try not to arrive at Taipei early. We arrived at around 5pm and by then it was already dark. Nothing much to shop and see around this hotel. But it was easy to locate the nearest MRT.
Breakfast was typical Taiwanese hotel style- Porridge and Toast. It wasnt outstanding but decent enough.

Reasonable Accomodation accessible to central st

It was a good stay in the hotel ; very reasonable rates & friendly staff. One can sense that this hotel has been around for sometime & needed some renovation, as there were workers going around with industrial glue patching up defects now and again for the 3 days i was there. Overall, a good stay & Ximending is just round the corner.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Ximending, Main Taipei Station underground shopping, Q Mall (new) & also shops lining the Zhong Xiao West road.
