this hotel is 2 blocks from tapei main station on he mrt line. it is also surrounded by food options and shopping. the hotel itself is actually a ymca hotel, which surprised me at first, but it was just like a normal nice hotel on the inside. the room was quite large. the shower was hot. the bed was quite firm if that is important to you one way or the other. the staff helped me print out some documents in the lobby and were very nice.
Restaurant Tip:
If you walk over to Taipei Main station and head east, when you get to the corner where Zhongshan road intersects, there is a little bakery on your left that sells delicious green onion rolls and other savory rolls. Kind of like pizza dough. Really tasty.

The service was good. People at the reception were nice and polite. The room was tidy and clean, although it was a bit old.
The location was good and convenient. It was near the MRT station. I enjoyed staying in Y Hotel and will probably stay there again in the future.

Soundproofing between rooms not good, you can hear someone's bathing in midnight.
Drians between rooms are poor. The carpet in bath room covering the drain getting wet once neightbour room shower. It is very strange to have problem like that.

I like this hotel because it is near the Taipei Metro Station and the airport bus station. The room price is reasonable, but breakfast is not included.
The room is clean, and the TV set is good. Overall it is comfortable, though the building is a bit old.
One bad thing is that the hotel restaurant does not open in the morning during the first few days of the lunar new year, so I had to get my breakfast outside.
Restaurant Tip:
On February 9(last day of the dragon year), most restaurants in Taipei closed at 4 pm, including the Y Hotel's, so I could only get some food at the MacDonald's!!

Short stay for this trip. Love the strategic locations. Appreciated the friedliness and helpfullness of the front desk personnel too.
There were many restaurant and one book store right opposite the hotel.
Shopping Tip:
There is one shopping mall (Shin Kong Mitsukoshi) in less than 1 minutes' walking distance.

Taipei main staion is only 1block.easy to get MRT, train and bus turminal. catch a bus to airport from here. clean room but old. There is Loyal Host in next lobby.

check the exit sometimes lost direction as big station
