Welcome to the 80s... don't expect luxury

We booked the Ayawan Hot Spring Resort, well, for the hot springs. They are part of this hotel, and they are absolutely fabulous. In fact, we had a hot spring bath on our balcony overlooking the hotel garden and the mountain. There are also a couple of 'public' hot spring baths that belong to the hotel, with different temperatures. Very relaxing! The room itself was stunning and very modern (although no wifi once we closed the door). The hotel itself is another story. It looks like construction was halted halfway through when the money ran out. Most of the garden is unfinished, with cement and construction material everywhere. The communal spaces are depressing, breakfast actually made us cry (go to the local 7-Eleven instead). If you have young kids, stay away from this place, as it is a serious safety hazard with all the bare electric wires poking out of roofs and walls. If you're going to be in the mountains or the hot springs most of the day, then staying in Ayawan isn't so bad, just avoid everything in the hotel except your own room.
Hotel Feature Tip:
There's wifi here and there, but very spotty and slow. Don't bring kids here, because the hotel looks like it hasn't been renovated or inspected for decades.

Good place if you want to experience Taiwanese hot springs and your focus is on the hot spring. The room and food was rather basic, but the hot springs are great!

食事は、近くの食堂から迎えの車が来てくれて、食事も美味しく温泉卵を作ることもできました。帰りもホテルまで送ってくれました。ホテルは、２５ｍプールや、お風呂、サウナなどがあり、とてもリラックス出来ます。夜は、貸切の家族風呂をサービスで、貸して貰いました。
Hotel Feature Tip:
是非、水着を持って行って、温泉をゆっくり楽しむ事が出来ます。次回は２泊位して、のんびり施設を楽しみたいです。
