Good location with reasonable size rooms for price

The location of the hotel is close to the market which is the prime area for observing local daily life. A lot of local activity occurs in the morning where the visitor can buy, see and observer local sales and purchase of produce, As the day proceeds business shops open and a number of good bargains and brands ara available. The prices quoted are competitive even in some cases lower than in Taipei.
The hotel is a little overuse in comparison to new furnished hotels in the vicinity

First, location is good , you can find many food shops around the hotel

Good location, Old-looking building and room

The location of the hotel is great. There are many good eating places nearby. It is also very near to the night market and about 1-2 streets away from the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle bus stop to goes to Sanxiantai. The room looks outdated and old, but it's sufficient and quite comfortable. There seems to be only 1 staff at the lobby usually, so he/she can be quite busy. If you have any enquiries to ask the staff, you may need to wait awhile.

Good location but poor quality rooms

the hotel is in the center of taitung. unfortuntely, the city doesn't have much to offer; so i would recommend finding a place near the train station. rooms are old and musty, and our bathroom leeks of smell and rust.

Nice large room right in town
Right in the middle of town.

I got a very large room when I check in. The only I didn't care about is the bathroom, it has a very bathtub that you must step up to get in to take a shower. But if you on a honeymoon or into taking bath you'll love it.

Basic n sufficient

The building n bathroom look tired. However, we were upgraded to a lovely suite upon our return from Green Island. Helpful staff and within walking distance to the night market n inra-city bus stop.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
The National Museum of Prehistory is well maintained n worth a visit.

Lovely hotel and service with a smile

We really enjoyed our staying in this hotel. Everything was just perfect for us so we could relax easily. Staff was very helpful and informative for us. Room was also very clean and cousy. The location of the hotel was excellent. It was only short walking to the bus station nearby.

Free bikes from hotel are useful.

Good location but outdated decor

Taitung Traveler Hotel is located in the heart of the city, close to many things that you might want to see in Taitung city. I arrived at the hotel at 12am and was pleasantly surprised to see the lobby well lit and fairly welcoming, unlike the rest of the town which had closed for the night. So no worries if you're arriving late. There is a family mart and 7-11 nearby which makes buying things easy. A short walk away you will arrive at the old train station where artists gather in the evening to sell handmade things.
The hotel itself is okay, though the decor is outdated, it fits well into Taitung, which looks like a town lost in time. The room was clean and bathroom worked fine. However, there was a rooster nearby that will start crowing at the crack of dawn. Do bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper.
The staff were helpful too, as they helped me to search for a train ticket back to Taipei. It took quite long, yet they were nice about it.
Restaurant Tip:
Just around the corner of the hotel there is a row of street side hawker stalls. Great place for breakfast. Many people queue up for the rice noodles and there is delicious fried carrot cake there as well.
