Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

A nice comfortable stay with friendly staff
Friendly staff, tradituional Thai buildings, good food
8.7
Traditional old Thai design which we found very quaint and inviting. We upgraded our room on arrival for the extra space of a Villa which are very good value for money. Food is good and the Chef who speaks good English is happy to cook things not on the menu given notice. The reception staff are very friendly and efficient and again speak English. Facilities round the pool could be better, for examole there are no cushions on the loungers which is uncomfortable. BEWARE THE MONKS AT DAWN! The local temple can be a bit noisy welcoming in the new day (lasts 1 hour) Well worth a visit though but a car is a MUST.

a great location
fantastic and well kept grounds

A little off the beaten track is the Jaroenrat Resort. This is the third time I have been there so know my way now but for the first timer a little more difficult. If you call them whilst your en-route they will direct you in like we did the first time.
Everything here is new, the standard of accomodation is OK but not to European standards and the frinish has a lot be be desired but if you are looking for traditional Thai accomodation then this is the place.
Previously we had two adjoining houses which are seperate to the right as you walk in. This time we had a room in the main block. Their is quite a lot that could be done to make it that bit special but maybe they will get there in the end but I don't think the Western traveller is really their market.
Breakfast is traditional Thai breakfast, nothing going on at all except for toast for the Westerner.
All in all a nicely kept resort right on the river, well kept, clean and tidy with a lovely swimming pool area too.
If you are looking to relax and chill out thyen this is the place.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Amphawa floating market is about 20 minutes drive from Jaroenrat Resort.

Authentic Thai culture with a smile
The resort architecture, space and surrounding would makes you grin and bring inner peace
8.3
Book this place for a night of rest after the driving trip from Phnom Penh. Was expecting a charming Thai hospitality. Certainly got that plus more - the place itself lends the true Thai abode of peace and tranquility.
The rooms are spacious and having wood panels and cleaniliness bowl me over.
Only drawback for a lite sleeper of me - the early mroning (dawn) temple chant. I could use some sleep over but there is nothing more to do when that started.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Wake up early to catch sunrise over the resort entrance. 6.30 to 7am is right time.
Have sandals as the access to the restaurant requires you to leave the shoes outside - a typical asian way.

Lovely hotel with nice surroundings
The exceptional look of the resort which is of Thai design....

We arrived late as we drove from Vientiane and unfortunately, we could not locate the hotel and finally, the hotel sent their staff to direct us.
Hotel is lovely especially surroundings, peaceful, quiet with friendly staff and helpful staff.
Standard room is a little small but well equipped and clean. Am sure the deluxe rooms are much bigger. Location is near several floating markets and the reknowned railway market.
My kids love the resort and we will re-visit again. Excellent choice for family with kids
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Damneon Saduek floating market - One of the stall sells a bowl of noodle at THB50 per bowl but the portion is too little and very expensive (not worth it at all). Undoubtly the souveniers along the water are more expensive and one would need to bargain.... have to use your discretion to buy or not...

Lovely resort in beautiful surroundings

Found this on the net through Agoda and what a great choice. The staff were extremely helpful. We couldn't find the resort initially so telephoned and was guided in. Check-in was simple and the standard rooms are quite basic but clean and comfortable. The outside cottages look stunning and will definitely return and stay in one of these.
If you are thinking of visiting this area try this place, you won't regret it.
On the downside the breakfast was not up to much for a westerner.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Amphawa Floating Market is an afternoon floating market by the canal near Wat Amphawan Chetiyaram. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, during 12.00 p.m. – 8.00 p.m., the Amphawa Canal is occupied by vendors who pack their boats with food and drinks, such as fried sea mussel, noodles, coffee, O-liang (iced black coffee), sweets, etc. Visitors can enjoy a cosy atmosphere and music broadcast by the community members, explore the market, have food, and hire a boat to see fireflies at night.
