Nice location and decent room.

No safe locker in the room. the view from room wasnt the best.

choosing ambessador was a decent deal with a nice location and relatively clean room. It is close to the skytrain station and going to different parts of city is very easy. Breakfash quality is OK but I have had better experiences.

Restaurant Tip : Halal food available right next to the hotel

Location - near Nana BTS Station, in THE centre of the tourism, shopping and entertainment district. Friendly staff, recently renovated rooms, excellent breakfast

Internet access is too expensive. Ideally, it should be free.

The Ambassador Hotel has been my regular haunt for the last 20 odd years. I really like staying here. I visit Bangkok at least 4 times a year, and I do not consider any other hotel.

Shopping Tip : There is brilliant shopping all around within a radius of 3 BTS stations.

Finally the hotel renovation is completed, since the last 2 years coming here was like a construction zone. The lobby and outer areas are quite nice. The tower section is nicer and better renovated than the main section. The location is very close to all the restaurants, nightclubs and BTS station.

The food is a bit overpriced for the quality and value. The main section rooms are outdated, even with renovation. There is NO free wireless and even if you pay for the card usage, it doesn't work throughout the hotel.

The most important aspect is convenience for business travelers. The location is easy for walking to restaurants, nightclubs and BTS stations,...but drivers coming for pick up, hate the congestion in this area. The traffic on fridays is very difficult to manuever around on Soi 11. During the renovation, they should have considered updating the wireless internet system so that it would be more usable for business travelers. It is nor feasible to not be able to stay connected 24/7, even the business center is closed at nights.

Nightlife Tip : Great nightlife and many restaurants closeby, lots of choices

Good location, Excellent Buffet Breakfast and good value for money

No internet connection in the room, TV in bad condition, Need to have more security measures on each guest room floor like CCTVs etc

The hotel was overall a good value for money. Very conveniently located, right in the heart of city. Good breakfast and service. However they should include internet in the room especially for business travellers.

Travel tip : Be careful of the cabbies near this hotel. They may overcharge you if you are new to the city.

Near BTS station

Rooms are slightly old

The hotel is not terribly cheap for what it offers, however plus point for being near BTS station. The rooms look clean enough, but there is a strange musty smell in the corridors and rooms. Overall it seems to be a rather popular hotel, but for my next stay I might want to check out another hotel.

Good location. Very near to BTS Nana Station

Tourist Area. Things are expensive in the neighborhood.

I have given very positive comment on my last review. However, after I stayed longer in the area, my feeling changed. There are many Indians, Pakistanians or Bangladesh (as I can't tell) staying in the hotel. Nearby, majority of restaurants are targeting to their taste. I was not so lucky in my second stay and the next. The neigbours on the opposite side of my room are noisy. No more quietness even when I stayed in the last room at the end of the corridor.

Shopping Tip : There are delicious packed cookies and bakery available at the supermarket just downstairs. Sometimes, if you don't want to eat out after a tiring shopping or working day, you can just fill up your stomach with these.

location was suitable for me as it was close to bumrungrad Hospital.Shopping nearby was ok and there are plenty of nice restaurants nearby. The room was clean and tidy.

The old wing rooms are quite small. There was no breakfast provided .Its amenities are well away from the old wing.Gym,swimming pool etc

Generally speaking it was value for money although there are better hotels nearby with the same amenities and provide breakfast as well. The location is near all the entertainment areas and there are a lot of bars and restaurants nearby. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The room was small but clean neat and tidy.

Hotel Feature Tip : Good gym

The staff are friendly to me. I stayed at the room at the end of the long corridor. I find it quiet and comfortable. There are many guests from India, Bangladesh or even Middle Asia.

I followed their guideline to put my towel on the rack so the staff don't have to change it every day for environment's sake. However, they still keep changing it everyday. The choices of breakfast are a bit limited.

Although the hotel is a bit old, it gives me a feeling of security and comfort. You don't find the noisy tourists in the hotel lobby or lift lobby, probably because the place is very spacious. BTS Skytrain, restaurants, shops are just around the corner. At this price and location, I don't expect more, except more choices on the breakfast table. I didn't renew the stay with breakfast because I'm bored with the choices already. Tried "Sweet Thai"(Thai message+herbal treat) for 120min at their spa here. Felt refreshed. The place is not fancy for those looking for modern and fancy stuff in a hotel. However, it gives me a homely feel. The hotel is like your granny.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : If you want to avoid the crowd at Siam and Chitlom, you can just take two stops by Skytrain to Phrom Phong. The shopping mall & dept store "Emporium" is just there. Highly recommend to see a movie there. No crowd. Costs me only THB130 and there are plenty of comfortable seats available.

Excellent location very easy to travel by BTS system, new wing very good comfortable rooms. Staff friendly.

Stayed 5 nights in the main wing smelly , small rooms, breakfast only just ok The outside of the hotel is very run down and in urgent need of repair presents poorly.

I have stayed ay the Ambassador for a cumalative 10 nights, 5 in the main wing and 5 in the new tower. I was very dissappointed with the main wing small rooms, smoke filled corridors, the new tower was mush better ngood size rooms clean and comfortable. The internal presentation is ok however the the outward appearance is very poor, looks old and run down. The big plus for the hotel is the location to the BTS system a big plus when you want to travel around Bangkok. I would stay at the hotel again.

Efficient reception staff, lavish complimentary breakfast, supply of tolieries, clean & well maintained rooms, superb ambience, gymnasium, swimming pool, bird aviary

Bathroom is very small in comparison to the room size, should have provision for bath tub.

Hotel is loacated at a very prominent location. Nana station is justt within 2 minutes walking ditance. Road side markets and food stall are just infront of the hotel. Small Shopping mall and maassage parlours are adjacent to the hotel compound only in Am Plaza. Bird aviary maintained at the 3rd flor of the hotel refreshes your mind and soul. Check in & check out were very prompt. I will definitely stay at this Hotel during my next trip.

Shopping Tip : MBK shopping mall can be reached by BTS from Nana Station to National stadium station by changing the train at Siam at a ticket of THB 25. Pratunam is very good for clothes and can be reached by taxi at THB 60. Pantim plaza for electronics is just oppoiste Pratunam. Big C mall is good for LCDs and it cane be reached by taxi at THB 60

Clean, fresh and good decor.

Parking area not clearly marked out.

This hotel has greatly improved since its renovation and upgrade of the rooms. Rooms are now brighter more inviting. Hotel is in a good area for the best of Thai, Indian and Italian food as well as shopping at night with a great range of stalls selling everything you could want. Getting around is quite easy as you are a short walk from the skytrain, or there are numerous taxis around the area. Walk down the street towards Robinsons Dept Store and you will find the Underground yet another great way to get around.

Great location, close to Nana BTS station 50 metres from Bed Supper Club, easy wlak to the night life Soi's very clean and modern rooms big 3m deep pool with poolside snack and drink service

terrible food

I recently stayed at The Ambassador Hotel in Sukhumvit Soi 11 for the second time. If you are travelling to Bangkok for shopping, sight seeing or medical care the location is excellent, an easy walk to popular places and the Nana Skytrain station. This is a real bonus if you want to avoid sitting stationary in a taxi in Bangkok’s terrible traffic. It is close to major centres like Central World Plaza, Siam Square and the Emporium. The sois are connected so it is cheap and easy to go by taxi to Panthip Plaza, Pratunam, Khao San Rd, Bumrungrad Hospital etc and weave through rather than sit in unmoving traffic on the main roads. The best thing about the hotel is the big, clean outdoor pool. There is well shaded in the heat of the day, plenty of space round it and a good bar and snack service, including great ice cream and sorbet. The hotel spa is good too, but you need to bargain them down in price. There are many massage places nearby for tired feet. The Ambassador is back off the main road in a lane (soi) so even though it is central it is still quiet. There are a lot of cafes and small restaurants on the lane and nearby, a night market sets up on the street at night and there is a supermarket 20 metres from the front door and several 24 hour mini marts very close by. The hotel has been refurbished since last time I was here and the rooms my friends and I were in were modern, clean and well equipped with tea and coffee, hair dryer, cable TV etc with quality bed linen and towels and everything in working order. The water was always hot and it was no drama to get extra towels and pillows. This is a good tourist hotel, very big (700 rooms) so there are plenty of staff to get things done quickly. The safety deposit box room was staffed 24 hours and very secure. I would recommend the hotel to anyone looking for somewhere clean and cool to come back to at the end of a hot, busy day in Bangkok. The food is not great though.
