The location of the hotel is very convenient and it is walking distance to the sky train. There are a lot of shops around too. There are a variety of restaurants close by. There is a convenience store Villa very closely located which was very helpful. The staff was helpful with information that we needed. The rooms were not very big. This hotel is convenient for business travellers or shoppers.

Great hotel but a bit outdated with small rooms

we spent 3 nights at the ambassador recently and enjoyed our stay. the rooms were small but clean and the swimming pool was very nice. i do think that they overcharge for the drinks in the minibar and all other stuff like taxis, internet, etc. i was really disappointed there was no free wifi in the hotel, it's 2012 after all!!

Lovely hotel in great location for great price
Lovely room, great pool and gym, plus a marvelous collection of exotic birds in spacious cages

absolutely wonderful- only thing i would change is putting a door on the shower. the modern style of a half-closed door ends up just making the entire bathroom floor get soaked. when showering right before leaving and letting room service clean up though, it's no problem.
Nightlife Tip:
We walked to the nearby Long Table bar/restaurant for a gorgeous view of the city and great drinks.

Brilliant hotel
loved the prime location, and a swiming pool in bangkok is a bonus.

i really like this hotel, i have stayed there quite a few times now and it manages to keep a good standard. its in an excellent location right next to a bts sky train (nana) which is obviously a very convenient and cheap way of reaching many parts of the city. the staff are very friendly, the gym is a very good one, they have many machines not just a treadmill so they can advertise the hotel as having a gym like many other thai hotels. have stayed in the cheapest room and have stayed in a suite, both very nice but the suite is worth that extra bit of money.
Nightlife Tip:
If you are there for Soi cowboy or nana plaza then i reccomend walking as they are both easily walkable.

ok for the price, but not perfect

overall value for money, cause the whole building looks like a 5 star accomodation. the rooms are fair, definitely for the price i paid. great swimmingpool also. anoying was that noise the chambergirls made during the morning. the kept shouting at eachother thru portophones and kept me up from 9 am. furthermore the staff wasn't the most helpfull i've met in asia. checking out was a stampede, orderless and chaotic. the stressed out failed to present a clear bill to me, but due to the hudge line behind me (it wasn't a line, more like a flock) i decided to trust them on their word.
oh, and for some reason most guests in this hotel are from india, pakistan or bangladesh.
Nightlife Tip:
You won't be able to miss the legendary nightlife on Sukhumvit.

Great location but needs refurb

The Ambassador is a good hotel for being close to everything Sukhumvit has to offer, bars shops, and the sky train at Nana, but for me the hotel is old now and needs an upgrade, i stay there every time i stop in bkk, but now i think i will change my hotel. The last time i stopped i got bite marks on my legs, maybe bed bugs and the birds in the aviary wake up too early for me,also no towels in my room on check in and no complimentary water maybe an oversight. there's nothing wrong with the staff very friendly, a part from when leaving the hotel to the airport , i was offered a special hotel taxi rate of 1000b, when i got taxi meter for 220b, time for a change i think.
