Hotel is more of a 3.5 star. Back in the day it was probably pretty nice. It's a really big hotel but worn. The Superior Wing room was really big. Actually very big so that was nice. If you had 2 kids and a spouse you could easily fit in here.

nice hotel & the place is so near with nana skytrain station, many food around the hotel as well but it's quite dissapointing that I got old room instead of new room so the atmosphere is different cos when I booked it, the picture shown looks so nice n new but then I got old interior room.

stayed at the ambassador for 6 nights. cheap deal through agoda. just 1,000 baht per night. top value for money. was in the old wing on floor 3, just near the big pool. room spacious, bed comfortable. not many of the rooms have bath and shower but i asked for one with both and got it. bath very small though. plenty of tv channels but few english and most of little interest. but then, you don't go to bkk to watch the tv, eh? make sure you book a double room as then no problem taking companions back. position of hotel is superb, just by skytrain.
verdict: value for money deal, top lcation, excellent big pool which is a real sun trap.

good service and an excellent dimsum promo during brunch on our 3rd day.. the hotel is conveniently located making it easy to travel around. has a nice old touch to it, almost vintage like interior.. all in all - a good stay :) i recommend this hotel to all..

Renovations made over the past few years are reaping benefits for guests at this gracefully aging property. Rooms are big, beds are comfortable, and many things have been modernized. The menus have also improved substantially; the burger is the bet I've had in Bangkok.
However a few things rile. The fitness center has not been upgraded in decades, and the antiquated equipment is an embarrassment. Also, the hotel has the temerity to charge 400 baht (13USD) pr day for wired Internet service, with wireless only available on select floors. If you have a smartphone or laptop and need it for more than occasional use, I would recommend one of the many other hotels in this area that offer free WiFi Internet service.
Restaurant Tip:
The German House restaurant across the street from the hotel has a great THB100 American breakfast with free WiFi service.

My first choice to stay in Bangkok. BTS station Nana is very near from it.And my Hospital,I can go there very easily which feels me very good.They should add some more TV Channel for us.
They have a few channel and most of them are Thai which we can't understand.Overall I'm very much pleased to stay in Ambassador Hotel.
Restaurant Tip:
There are lots of Restaurant in that area.You can choose what ever you want to eat.

Great Location room not that great

The price was exceptional. The room was quite small and the the view was a roof from the seventh floor room. Housekeeping could not provide an iron, instructed me to take my shirt to a laundry and get it ironed. The location of this hotel is a major plus.
