Me and my wife found the Ambassador hotel well above average for the price. Good room(maybe a little small), excellent chinese dim sum restaurant and nightclub in the basement if you feel like staying up late. TV was not picking up a very good signal for the English speaking channels, not really a problem unless you spend alot of time in the room.
On the negative side, there was alot of noise from construction from 8am onwards, however this is not unusual in BKK. The other thing was hotel asking my wife on more than one occasion if she was somebody i had just met, if you follow my meaning. She was quite upset by this, especially as it happened more than once.
Restaurant Tip:
Dim Sum restaurant in the hotel was excellent, all you can eat for about 359b.

good thing of this hotel is location and nice breakfast.. everything else-disaster. full of ants in the room (don't let your food or juice or anything on table), tarantella on the wall.. old rooms.. flat above was under renovation during our stay so we were waked up each morning at 8.. bad... very bad..

The hotel is primely located in Sukhumvit, in the middle of happening nightlife. The staff is very courteous and helpful. The break fast spread is quite decent.

Well located within shopping, restaurants, shops and close to Skytrain.
Clean and very friendly personnel, has all one wants and needs, value for money.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Very close to Nana station of Skytrain. Lots of shops, restaurants, bars etc around, good location for a traveller.

We had a very good stay & very good price for the B&B.We requested by calling the hotel for early check in, it was granted with no fuss.Very convenient for transport from Ambassador hotel as the two stations are near.Excellent breakfast & to mention is the best out of many hotels we stayed in BKK.

very close to BTS train line station, close to the new airport link train line, cheap price

I picked this hotel because it was cheap and a short commute to the airport, as I was only staying in Bangkok to connect to another flight. It was OK - could have been better - breakfast was a bit rubbish, place looks like it could do with a face lift, but for someone passing through who wants a no thrills hotel that taxi drivers know, and is used to people checking in at 8am after a 14 hour flight, then this place is OK.
Restaurant Tip:
The food court at top of the Emporium shopping centre (2 stops down on BTS) is pretty good.

we had a pleasant stay,they give us a late checkout because our entry was very late at night, without any problem, the staff was very friendly and helpfull everywhere
