Very large hotel, but fairly old and dilapidated

the hotel appears to be fairly old, and needs some maintenaince (especially its elevators), but overall its a pleasant stay. the breakfast however could have been improved with more attentive and accomodating staff.
Nightlife Tip:
"Nest" bar is on the same road, away from the main drag. Its a rooftop bar, and allows you to escape the hustle and bustle with a nice drink. Plenty of foreigners there, but a bit pricey.

Some of the worst service I have had in Bangkok

Though the room was fine, this hotel had some of the worst service I have ever experienced. Lines for check in and check out were huge as they had only one or two staff members on duty at peak hours and other staff refused to step in to help. When I finally checked in at 7pm I was told that my room was still not available and that I had to wait 1-2 hours for housekeeping to get around to cleaning it. When I asked why my room was still not ready when I was supposed to be able to check in at 2pm (5 hours earlier) there was no response and no offer to upgrade me to another room that was available. The option was only to wait in the lobby or sit in a smoking room until my room was ready. Several of my friends who booked through Agoda had the same problem - as did throngs of other 'guests' who swarmed the front desk - trying to get someone to help them but received no help.

Two desk people to handle 15 people upon check out. If checkout is at noon, there should be more people at the counter. Otherwise, hotel was basic and ok.

Nice hotel with great location in the middle of Soi 11. Triple sharing is fine in the superior room of tower wing since the room is quite big, can fit extra bed comfortably. Free wifi is a plus.
Travel tip:
Stroll along Soi 11 at night. Lots of vendors selling street food.

My experience at the time of checkin was not good. Though the check-in time was 2:00pm, we able to check-in to the rooms only after 6pm as the earlier guests had not checked out and the rooms were yet to be cleaned. Also, on entering the room there was a strong odour and had to keep the room open for a while. However the room was quite spacious and the room was quite clean.
Nightlife Tip:
Hotel Ambassodor has a discotheque in the basement i.e. Club Climax which is usually open till 3am. Also it is close to NANA, Soi Cowboy & other discotheques.

Good hotel, great location

Ambassador has a great pool with sun beds which are in the sun. The location is great as all the descent bars and clubs are on the same ski as the hotel. The rooms are good and large, hotel staff are good and accommodating.

the hotel is situated right in the middle of all the action in bangkok on sukhumvit soi 11, just about one-minute walk to the main road and nana bts station. the street food outside the hotel is cheap and good. staff is friendly. but no free wi-fi in the room at main wing, tv is too small and no bath tub.
