Location - near Nana BTS Station, in THE centre of the tourism, shopping and entertainment district. Friendly staff, recently renovated rooms, excellent breakfast

Internet access is too expensive. Ideally, it should be free.

The Ambassador Hotel has been my regular haunt for the last 20 odd years. I really like staying here. I visit Bangkok at least 4 times a year, and I do not consider any other hotel.

Shopping Tip : There is brilliant shopping all around within a radius of 3 BTS stations.

Finally the hotel renovation is completed, since the last 2 years coming here was like a construction zone. The lobby and outer areas are quite nice. The tower section is nicer and better renovated than the main section. The location is very close to all the restaurants, nightclubs and BTS station.

The food is a bit overpriced for the quality and value. The main section rooms are outdated, even with renovation. There is NO free wireless and even if you pay for the card usage, it doesn't work throughout the hotel.

The most important aspect is convenience for business travelers. The location is easy for walking to restaurants, nightclubs and BTS stations,...but drivers coming for pick up, hate the congestion in this area. The traffic on fridays is very difficult to manuever around on Soi 11. During the renovation, they should have considered updating the wireless internet system so that it would be more usable for business travelers. It is nor feasible to not be able to stay connected 24/7, even the business center is closed at nights.

Nightlife Tip : Great nightlife and many restaurants closeby, lots of choices

Good location--middling service, outdated rooms Guest Rating: 5.3

Price, location Near skytrain, Sukhumvit

Rooms outdated Service subpar Hallways and elevator felt kind of worn Bathroom very spartan

Great location, good price. However the rooms, lobby, and exterior all seem somewhat dated. The service was so-so, and could have been more professional and cheery. I personally would spend an additional $10-15/night to stay in a nicer boutique hotel. There is no way this is a 4-star hotel in my book. On the other hand, it is nicer than a hostel, so for a bargain-traveler it might not be that bad of a deal given the location.

Nightlife Tip : Bed Supperclub is nearby--pricy cover, but it keeps the working girls out.

Clean, tidy, central, good breakfast

Long way to walk back to the lobby from the second tower :)

Clean, tidy, central, good breakfast are good way of describing the hotel. It has a selection of quite decent shops in the lobby. I was pleasantly suprised by the quality of work from the "lucky guy" tailors. They replicated a $400 french shirt for me at 1000baht and not many people can tell the different from the original. Staff are very courteous... They dont do hotel pick ups but once you have been to thailand once you will soon realise that metered taxis are the best way to get around.

Shopping Tip : Good tailors at the lobby

Good location, Excellent Buffet Breakfast and good value for money

No internet connection in the room, TV in bad condition, Need to have more security measures on each guest room floor like CCTVs etc

The hotel was overall a good value for money. Very conveniently located, right in the heart of city. Good breakfast and service. However they should include internet in the room especially for business travellers.

Travel tip : Be careful of the cabbies near this hotel. They may overcharge you if you are new to the city.

Good staff courtious service

Rooms are noisy,

The hotel is nicely located, and close to all activities on sukumvit road, I wish if the gym was modernized, as the equipment are old. Staff is courtious, extra charges to allow any friend to accompany you to your room. Should faclitate the guest with private safes. TV was horrible, old not working TV in the room I received. No good reception on the channels or the TV. No facilities to listen to music. No electrical power outlets to charge your phone or computer.

Near BTS station

Rooms are slightly old

The hotel is not terribly cheap for what it offers, however plus point for being near BTS station. The rooms look clean enough, but there is a strange musty smell in the corridors and rooms. Overall it seems to be a rather popular hotel, but for my next stay I might want to check out another hotel.

Good location. Very near to BTS Nana Station

Tourist Area. Things are expensive in the neighborhood.

I have given very positive comment on my last review. However, after I stayed longer in the area, my feeling changed. There are many Indians, Pakistanians or Bangladesh (as I can't tell) staying in the hotel. Nearby, majority of restaurants are targeting to their taste. I was not so lucky in my second stay and the next. The neigbours on the opposite side of my room are noisy. No more quietness even when I stayed in the last room at the end of the corridor.

Shopping Tip : There are delicious packed cookies and bakery available at the supermarket just downstairs. Sometimes, if you don't want to eat out after a tiring shopping or working day, you can just fill up your stomach with these.

Location, price, convenience

Restaurant not so nice, The baggage handling outside the hotel is unproffessional, old wing rooms need refurbishment.

Hotel Ambassador is conveniently located and reasonably priced. The receptionists are always helpful and the lobby area is largely spaceous. The old wing rooms are not so pleasant, but for the price, not much to complain. If the Ambassador service apartments are advertised more, they may be better selling than most of the rooms. Few things that may be improved are; Very often the load of bags outside the hotel entrance is very disturbing and enoying. If other arrangements can be done, the entrance could look more pleasant. The empty lobby does not suit the environment. The business unit is not appropriately located and not spaceous enough for the No. of stars of the hotel. The restaurant is very dissapointing. It has never changed over the last fifteen years. The Bar on the ground floor has again never changed for years. The bar is not properly utilised and lots of roomto improve for the best of the clients and the hotel.

Nightlife Tip : Good location for evening dining and a drink

location was suitable for me as it was close to bumrungrad Hospital.Shopping nearby was ok and there are plenty of nice restaurants nearby. The room was clean and tidy.

The old wing rooms are quite small. There was no breakfast provided .Its amenities are well away from the old wing.Gym,swimming pool etc

Generally speaking it was value for money although there are better hotels nearby with the same amenities and provide breakfast as well. The location is near all the entertainment areas and there are a lot of bars and restaurants nearby. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The room was small but clean neat and tidy.

Hotel Feature Tip : Good gym

The staff are friendly to me. I stayed at the room at the end of the long corridor. I find it quiet and comfortable. There are many guests from India, Bangladesh or even Middle Asia.

I followed their guideline to put my towel on the rack so the staff don't have to change it every day for environment's sake. However, they still keep changing it everyday. The choices of breakfast are a bit limited.

Although the hotel is a bit old, it gives me a feeling of security and comfort. You don't find the noisy tourists in the hotel lobby or lift lobby, probably because the place is very spacious. BTS Skytrain, restaurants, shops are just around the corner. At this price and location, I don't expect more, except more choices on the breakfast table. I didn't renew the stay with breakfast because I'm bored with the choices already. Tried "Sweet Thai"(Thai message+herbal treat) for 120min at their spa here. Felt refreshed. The place is not fancy for those looking for modern and fancy stuff in a hotel. However, it gives me a homely feel. The hotel is like your granny.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : If you want to avoid the crowd at Siam and Chitlom, you can just take two stops by Skytrain to Phrom Phong. The shopping mall & dept store "Emporium" is just there. Highly recommend to see a movie there. No crowd. Costs me only THB130 and there are plenty of comfortable seats available.

Excellent location very easy to travel by BTS system, new wing very good comfortable rooms. Staff friendly.

Stayed 5 nights in the main wing smelly , small rooms, breakfast only just ok The outside of the hotel is very run down and in urgent need of repair presents poorly.

I have stayed ay the Ambassador for a cumalative 10 nights, 5 in the main wing and 5 in the new tower. I was very dissappointed with the main wing small rooms, smoke filled corridors, the new tower was mush better ngood size rooms clean and comfortable. The internal presentation is ok however the the outward appearance is very poor, looks old and run down. The big plus for the hotel is the location to the BTS system a big plus when you want to travel around Bangkok. I would stay at the hotel again.

Near to major attractions, A lot of restaurants nearby. Near to Skytrain Station.

No Bath tub

Its economically priced. Good for the money we pay. The hotel is very near to many shopping areas, pubs, restaurants and many attractions. Very convenient for travelling around. The hotel is known to all taxi drivers, so easy for you to find it.

Restaurant Tip : A lot of restaurants around, Australian, italian, Indian, Arabic, Thai... Try small thai restaurants around... Cheap & tasty!
