From check-in to check-out, everything at Anantara Bangkok Riverside was a polished operation. Service was given with a smile, any needs were attended to and without a doubt the food offered was great.
We ate at Benihana's, which showcased not only the food but, also the chef's ablility to entertain the customers. At their Italian restaurant, I ate their antipasto and lasagne, both were excellent and fairly priced. We also ate at the Riverside lounge, had their nightly buffet which was also excellent but, a little bit costly.
The Resort is well laid out and definitely a place we will visit again.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Do take the half-day tour of the 3 temples (see the Golden Buddha, the very long reclining Byddha and the Emerald Buddha)and the Grand Palace. Be ready to walk alot and bear in mind it does get hot there so you may tire earlier then expected. To go to the Grand Palace women must wear long pants or long skirt. Leggings are not allowed as we found out and my wife had to buy a wrap around skirt that they happen to sell at the Grand Palace.

Loved staying in this hotel settled straight in and the breakfast was amazing!
Found the hotel seemed to take every opitunity to make money out of you though. Wifi is free for 30 mins a day then you have to pay the aquivillant of for up to an hr. Drinks are expensive at the bar aswell but apart from that everything was perfect!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Need to get taxi to central Bangkok for the main sightseeing and nightlife! The hotel boat takes you to a new shopping area along the river with bars shops etc

An oasis in the city

Although its a little bit out from the actual heart of Bangkok, it is easy to get around via the free river boat which links to the great Skytrain. The staff are wonderfully helpful and appear genuinely happy to help. The spa is great but a tad expensive compared to others outside the hotel.
Restaurant Tip:
Jim Thompsons house is worth a trip for dinner although allow an hour even using the train!

I love its tropical atmosphere, it made me feel like staying in countryside. The lowrise buildings are designed to interlock with with big tree gardens very well. I also love the corridors along the building , they allow fresh air circulate the whole area.

The hotel was a great one. Biggest disappointment was the sushi-buffet. We love Japanese food but the mayonneise on top of sushi-rolls and especially the becon ( ham ) does noe belong to sushi...

Spacious hotel in an excellent location

The hotel is, as all the Anantara hotels, a beautiful decorated complex with extraordiny sense for details. You feel immmediately cosy and warm The atmosphere of Thailand was completly caught in this hotel. The garden was extraordinary and the terrace directly at the riverside was awesome.
Unfortunately the first room that we were given with the recommendation of the reception staff was an ungly little room with a balcony that wasn't worth to be called as such with space for only one chair and with a very bad price-quality report as the hotel is not cheap at all. After having complained and after intimidating to move immedtialey out we were given a "normal" room what they call a junior suite and which was quite nice and which could be called to be an Anantara hotel room.
The breakfast was perfect in an uncomparable surrounding.

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and look forward to being back in a month. Our colleague with whom we are travelling got a basket of fruit and other amenities Jin his room. We did not. We hope we will next time and when we stay at the Anantura in Hua Hin.
