Peaceful, friendly, stylish, thoughtful, relaxing, convenient, central
We would certainly come back next time we were in Bangkok. Unfortunately we had very little time to enjoy the stay, as we arrived at 7 and had to leave at 6 in the morning. Otherwise the hotel seems great. We did like the interior design, the library and all the little touches, from the welcoming fruit, to the complimentary comb in the bathroom, to the reliability of the reception staff. Great service!
The other plus was the convenient location.

Room, pool, restaurant, manager, staff
We enjoyed the Ariyasom. Beautifully set out in a garden atmosphere. The room was a very relaxing place to hang out with wooden floor, king size bed and large bathroom. It is old fashioned in the best sense. Along with the pool one fine feature is a library room. The location suffers from being beside a klong . Sometimes the smell wafts through a bit strongly, attracts mosquitoes too. Overall loved the place.
Restaurant Tip : Great Thai eateries in the Soi

good situation in the town, staff are friendly and helpful, you can have lots of privacy overthere, amenities are in good condition,
a bit noisy in the daytime, few flower basins have some bad smell.
The room is very very clean and tidy, the toilet are extremely beautiful. The bed, pillows, and slippers are so comfortable. The common area just like your private area. The decoration and the details are delicate. You don't need to worry about the safery cause there are good security guard. Home-made style resturant food let you feel warm and sweet. Everything are good to health. Ariyasomvilla tries every best to let you relax and feel calm.
Restaurant Tip : Don't hesitate to try the food stall just right outside the hotel.

Inimicacy and elegance of surroundings and facilites. A genuine haven.
The support and assistance by Managing Director David Lees and his staff, particularly his office manager Jadet, was outstanding.

Very classic, traditional design of the hook! :)tel building; a small but relaxing resort environment in the city centre; convenient transport (only 7-8 mins walk to the nearest BTS station); staff are nice and helpful with quick response!
the room is basically big enough for myself; the only shortcoming is -- there is no balcony!
Everything is nice! The atmosphere is great. You will really feel very relaxed there. I saw a lot of the people commented on the bacon (of breakfast). That's actually not that bad... it is in fact in an interesting version of bacon... I'll say... it is just like the Thai famous crispy BBQ pork, but in a bacon version. An interesting snack!
Restaurant Tip : There are several big local hawker centres along the road walking through to the BTS station. If you are adventurous enough, you can try and enjoy taking these local food! Looks nice! Besides, it is not difficult to tell the taxi driver how to go to the hotel... just tell them to go to Soi 1 and go to the end of the road.

The villa is such a relaxed and beautiful place. When I get into the villa, I was given a welcome drink! it is so cool and delicious! The staffs are very friendly.I want to show my deepest appreciation to the General Manager David Lees who is the soul of the villa. He is like my old good friend when we stay into the hotel. The last but not least, the chef is the best! Don't miss dinner time at the vintage dinning room!

--> nice swimming pool. The depth of it is suitable. you really can swimming there.
--> nice bathroom design, expecially there is a the window between bedroom and bathroom.
--> Thoughtful service. provide welcome drink when you arrive.
--> provide fragrance oil in bathroom which give you a very relax environment.
--> personal welcome letter to you
--> provide fruit and two bottles of juice to you instead of coffee and tea
--> quite far awary from the BTS station
--> not enough lighting outside the hotel
--> the front door of frond desk is not obvoius. You may get the wrong way when you back at night.
a nice hotel which provide a thoughtful service. The welcome drink and letter really give me a surprise.
Nightlife Tip : a few massage shops find at Soi 1. The price is ecomonic.

Original portion of the building has charm. Mod cons in room are well integrated. Wooden structure of original building adds warmth.
Some of the front staff are indifferent at best, bordering on rude. Room (309) had leaks in ceiling during rain. Wifi basically useless - not able to reliably connect in 48hrs. Room was noisy because directly over dining room and older structure has no sound proofing - breakfast starts @ 6:30 and you could hear it.
While the manager, David, was kind and a redeeming quality to the hotel, we started off with a bad experience on checkin. The staff who checked us in did not greet us but just asked "are you checking in?" there was no courtesy and no attempt to interact other than to get us processed. There was no welcome, no explanation about the hotel or services. It was up to us to find out - what time is breakfast? where is it served? When shown to the room there was no explanation about where things were or how they worked. The room had a window out on to the hallway - the light in the hall was left on all night making the room bright all night - apparently the guest is responsible to shut off the hall lights.
The older portion of the building was interesting, and had a lot of character and charm but be warned that the walls in the old section have little to no insulation so it can be very noisy. Also, during some heavy rain, our room had several leaks from the ceiling.
Were the service more even, it would have had a better review, but with many hotels with better service in this price range it's unlikely we'll return.

Gorgeous bathrooms, nice rooms, beautiful pool, good food, free Wi-Fi; location
keys repeatedly didn't work, front desk weak as concierge, mosquitos, price, weak Wi-Fi in room
This is a lovely hotel with hands on ownership. All in all I loved it. Planned to stay only a night and stayed 5 (And I don't even like Bangkok). My complaints are relatively minimal - weak Wi-Fi in room, having to return to the front desk repeatedly b/c every time I left the keys wouldn't work, got tons of mosquito bites but never saw them, expensive (some nearly comparable hotels for 2/3rds the discounted price) and while they tried, front desk wasn't very knowledgeable about activities (asked to check, they never got back to you). That said, I would highly recommend the hotel. Just leave room for me.

Peaceful atmosphere, tropical plants, colours, style of furniture, great bathroom, Meditation room, indoor and outdoor relaxation areas.
Would be wonderful if you had a free taxi/shuttle service to the airport.
What a suprise to find such a beautiful oasis in the middle of Bangkok...a rarity indeed! The overall ambience of the hotel is wonderfully warm and tranquil, felt like a 'home away from home'. I was delighted to discover your meditation centre and see that you had allocated a room for people to have the opportunity to to be able to learn/practice Vipassana meditation, and truly look within. So not only can guests find peace of mind, by having a massage, going for a swim, relaxing in the library or having a long soak in the bath, but they can learn techniques that will assist in keeping this peace of mind throughout their daily lives.
The fixtures, fittings, styles and colours of furniture/walls and attention to detail also creates a calm, cosy atmosphere. I really enjoyed my stay, don't change a thing!

Fantastic place - very quiet
Owner & staff who know how service works - Room was huge and very very well fitted out - just a great place to stay if you don't want the "corporate" idea of a hotel in Bangkok.

Very nice Thai style decoration, new hotel (old building renovated), very comfortable rooms and large bathroom, own 'patio', swimming pool, nice restaurant & good organic food, friendly staff, good service.
A lot of mosquitoes because the river runs right next to the hotel. The river can also smell bad sometimes. Not the best location for nightlife or restaurants, but you can get anywhere by taxi or sky train.
This hotel is the nicest one we'd ever stayed at. The decoration was perfect, the hotel was very comfortable and quiet, good for relaxing. We chose the hotel based on the pictures and reviews, and we couldn't be happier that we chose to stay here. The standard studio room was perfect, with large bathroom and balcony. The food in the restaurant was great, and healthy. The prices could be a bit cheaper, but then again this is a very good hotel with good service. The pool was also nice, and you can also dine next to the pool area. The hotel is located at the end of Soi 1, which most of the taxi drivers don't know. Sky train station is close. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone who is after a hotel where they can relax, and eat good food.
Travel tip : It's fastest to use the sky train in order to move away from the Sukhumvit area. There are major traffics in the evening in the bigger streets, so taxi trip will take a long time.

Large room size, very comfortable beds, great bath tub to relax in, extremely friendly staff and owner; quiet location but easy walk to Skytrain
nothing that bothered us at all
The overall impression of this beautiful hotel is one of peace and calm, making it a lovely place to return to after a hot day out in Bangkok. Our room was very comfortable; the staff were helpful. Breakfast was delicious. The pool and spa, although small, are well designed. The owner is very helpful and professional. A great place to stay around the Sukhumvit area,2 mins walk to Bumrungrad hospital, and an easy walk to the Skytrain station.

Comfortable stay, clean rooms, great service, outstanding staff.
Good location too!!
The swimming pool is a bit small. Can't say it is really a swimming pool but I reckon it is rather a decorating pool!!
