Me and my family stayed in Ascott Sathorn for 4 days in a
two bedroom suite.Located a short walk from Chong Nonsi BTS station this hotel has good transport links to central.
The staff were very helpful and always smiley, making us
feel at home. Requests were dealt with swiftly and
efficiently. Concierge was knowledgeable of the local
festivities and layout helping us find the most obscure of
restaurants in Bangkok.Due to the rain, we didnt venture to the pool area until the last day of our stay. The pool area was a little dated and could do with some work.

non smoking rooms/floors were available. clean and spacious rooms. unbelievably well equipped gym with plenty of options for cardio or weight training, plus an open area for stretching or yoga. food options also excellent. outside pool area was elegant and right next to restaurant-- with poolside tables and great ambience. highly recommend this hotel.

This was our second stay there. We came back because we loved it the first time and we were not disappointed. The rooms are nicely done (albeit in this slightly unimaginative, neutral, "modern" style), spacious and well-equipped. Bathrooms with their canopy showers are great. You get all these nice little touches like bathrobes and slippers, DVD player etc.
We have lived in Bangkok for many years in the past, and we were not there for heavy-duty tourism. We just wanted to escape Singapore for while. We did some walking around (always fun), but most of the time was spent relaxing, enjoying the hotel itself and its amenities (great pool, fantastic gym). The poolside restaurant is excellent, but other food places in the hotel are average - specially compared to the local Thai street food. We found the breakfast to be lacking in imagination.
Service at the reception could be a little more smiling, but they are very efficient.
These are minor points. Overall, we had a great stay. We'll be back !
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
For a pleasant evening in one of the most atmospheric jazz/fusion/rock hangouts in Bangkok, get on the SkyTrain at Chong Nonsi nearby, exit at the Victory Monument station, and find the Saxophone Pub. Locals and foreigners rub shoulders to the sound of excellent local bands. They also have very good food.

Exceeded my expectations, wonderful hotel, best hotel stayed in Bangkok so far, safe neighborhood, wonderful location near the skytrain and bus stops, friendly staff and helpful concierge service.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Don't buy anything from jewelry stores packaged by tourist agencies, they are a scam, overpriced pieces of jewelries. Follow the concierge advice on getting to and from places via taxi or public commute. Taxi is cheap in Bangkok if you make sure to get the metered rate not the rate they offer to you prior to riding them.

We loved staying here. The quality of everything was very high. Good for family, or business traveller. Not in tne touristy area, but easy and quick access by train to area, or cab to the waterfront. Suited our needs perfectly.

this was my second night with 5 of us staying here. the living room is a nice place for all to hang out with your own rooms to sleep at night. there are 2 bathrooms, so it is enough for all and the l'occitane toiletries was a hit with mum and pop, basically all of us!!! great value for money and the breakfast is great. fruits, cereal, juices, breads and pastries, congee, soup, a rice dish, a noodle dish, a pasta, a few stir fries, a western meat dish and a stew, etc. too many. look forward to breakfast every day

Feels like home!

Although we booked a one bedroom executive for first night and two bedroom executive for second night, we had to shift to the bigger room on the second day. Would have been better if we could just have the big room for both days, but not their fault =) The couch is comfy but my mum and I both suffered big bites after we lay on it, probably there are some bugs on it? The air conditioning in the room took too long to cool. I was still perspiring after we came back for 3-4 hours. As a result, I didn't have a good sleep. Love the L'Occitane toiletries and rain shower though!!! The breakfast is superb. Many choices, it's almost like lunch buffet. Good for those who likes a hearty breakfast.
Travel tip:
A little difficult to get cabs to come in to the lobby to get out and there's almost always a traffic jam on the main road which Ascott Sathorn is on, but BTS Chong Nonsi Station is 5-7 minutes walk away. Health Land Massage just opposite the hotel =)
